I love when people are proud that they havent seen or done something. "I've never seen Game of Thrones, and I am so happy to say that"....like cool, thanks for telling me you dont like great entertainment.

Yeah I haven’t seen several of the non traditional non-comedies…..I know they’d be great, at least for the most part…..I just haven’t committed to watching them. Hard to have time to be up on every damn show lol.

Its impossible. But I would never brag about it. Like when people are proud of never seeing Star Wars.

I'm not sure how to pick this.  I'm going with supporting actors, since otherwise it's kind of just the lead in a all-time great show.

Cosmo Kramer

Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane

Stringer Bell

Jennifer Goines

Berta (Two and a Half Men)

honorable mention: B.A. Baracus

I'm seeing a lot of Game of Thrones characters.  I've never watched it, but always hear how awesome it is.  Fantasy is not my genre - not a huge LOTR fan for example (respected the films, but didn't love them).  Is Game of Thrones worth the effort for someone like me?

Forgot about Darryl.  Probably should bump Bertha off my list.

Considered Mike, but already had The Hound for my pick of crotchety old bad ass.

I tell everyone who has a similar feel as you to watch the first season. Its 10 episodes and gives a good layout of the characters and how things will play moving forward. It hits its peak in 3-6. 7 is really solid and 8 is fine. But if you like season 1, you will love the show and should have a solid baseline for judging if you want to continue.

I would also say to potentially read Wikipedia episode plots once you finish an episode. Especially early, this helped my wife know who was who as the names of some characters blend.

For the record, I do not like LOTR at all, but loved GOT. At the heart of it, its a political/war show with amazing side plots weaved in.

Compelling case...I will try it.

It's worth the investment for the twists alone.

They do a pretty good job of keeping the fantasy elements to a minimum until the final seasons.  It's there throughout, but I think it's pretty easy to look past.

Great dialogue, great acting and plenty of intrigue with some humor thrown in.

I have never watched it as well.  Walked in once and my wife was watching and it looked like she was watching a gang bang.  I said "what the hell" and she said yeah it  goes there sometimes.  I said ok and went back to my business.
