Campbell's Condensed. One can of milk. Never water.

Just water,
Wrong.
The proper post here is:
Tomato soup is gross.
All milk. No water.
For a nice twice, some pureed red pepper adds to it, as well.

This, however, Aldi's brand is just as good.
My mother in law makes some awesome bell pepper soup that tastes kind of like tomato soup with a little extra kick.

I haven't had it, but I've never been disappointed with anything purchased from the Albrecht brothers so this doesn't surprise me.

No water? Wouldn't that make it too thick?
No water. At all.

Too thick? Negative. It makes it creamy, instead of watery.

What Justin said. It makes it rich and able to stick to a good grilled cheese sandwich.

For once, I agree with you on something!
Not a big soup fan in general, but when I have it, tomato is the bottom of the barrel for me. Thick vegetable soup with hunks of roast in it is great. So is french onion. And a good home-made sort of potato with proper seasonings. But not tomato. Never tomato.
Tomato soup must have Ritz crackers. Add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, basil and crushed red pepper over the top.
Having a bowl of some nice and hot Progresso brand tomato soup with basil. Excellent stuff, and it's not condensed. No milk involved, just thick, rich, tomato goodness.
I added some celery powder, cumin, cilantro, a few red pepper flakes, and a bit of sriracha sauce. Gives a nice warm feeling inside after dealing with the cold snap over the last few days, plus shoveling the driveway and sidewalk this morning.
