So I carpool to school everyday and today we met at a local park and ride right off of Rt 32. We return back after school and someone sawed off my catalytic converter from my 16 year old Honda Accord. Effing worthless assholes.

Some fucks went through my truck a month or so ago bc I forgot to lock it. Didn’t take anything but was obvious someone was in there.

Once had my Jeep broken into in Ytown (student fenced in, guarded property), stole all my change, a cd player, and a bunch of gum lol. At least they unzipped the window instead of slashing it.

People are trash.

This happened every single time we left our cars unlocked at our old house. Lost a few pairs of cheap sunglasses and an iPod nano.

I love having a garage now.

Just wondering if your car was drivable to your home?

Please describe how you found out what happened when you knew something was wrong.

I know you go a long way to your teaching job and to come back to that is disheartening.

Would go out in certain parts of Toledo, and we typically didn’t drive home for everyone’s safety. You just left the car unlocked, because it was going to be ruffled through regardless. This way you avoided a broken window and repair costs.

Only thing anyone ever took was an iPhone charger. Usually if you locked it all (valuables) in the glove, they’d go through center console and back seat, but leave it all. Never tried to break the lock of the glove.

...but yeah, ~80% of the time you’d come back and someone was in there.

Normally we meet at my house but I had my son’s track meet and to save about 10 min and make sure I didn’t miss his first event we parked at the park and ride. As we returned I saw what looked like a bunch of twine under my car thinking I maybe ran over some and it drug underneath it. As I start the car it was roughly 100x louder than normal. I drove it about 3 miles to the track meet. It didn’t have the normal acceleration and it was holy moses loud but it drove. After meet I drove it to the local muffler place to park overnight and filed out sheriff report.

Not particularly....I’d guess way more pill heads. I’m not real savvy on the druggies. We have ample for sure. These guys are hitting car lots, church vans....

Muffler guy said they were messy....sounds like it’s going to cost me a good deal more than I thought

Does insurance cover that?

$500 deductible and this is going to cost $480ish as a lesser quality converter but they ripped out another pipe and somehow the 02 sensor is missing.

Truly unbelievable...new converter was going to be $600...my car is 16 years old, lesser quality will do

After a summer full of his and his neighbor's cars being rifled through, an old workmate of mine put a mousetrap under his drivers seat and another in the center console. One morning he found that the one in the center console was missing.

He went on and on about how it probably went down. Had us howling!
