Saw this posted on twitter and thought it was interesting. What say you? Are you starting over and amassing a huge fortune off of your collective knowledge of future events, or are you just taking the money now and keeping on living your current life?

After further reading, I believe you become a 6-year old immediately, not go back in time to when you were 6 to relive your life. So that might change answers.

If I can't go back in time, then this is a dumb question.  Give me the cash every time.

Time is infinitely more valuable than money, imagine starting as a 6 year old, cruise through school, take better care of health with the knowledge available now, to even further extend life that you have been given to basically start over.

Money. I have too much fun now to want to go back to a day when I had to listen to adults and do what they tell me...especially considering the number of times where that kind of thing was more of the "for my own good" reasoning other than it being an actual necessity to get ahead in the world. Give me 46 years of experience and toss me into a situation where I have to hear people saying shit like "children should be seen, not heard" and have to take it because I'm in the body of a child? Lol, my "second life" is gonna have me in detention, juvie and entering my 20s with my main skill being "able to make a shiv out of anything".

Give me $10M, though, and I'm done with work and spending the rest of my years partying around the world. I like that option better.

I'm tempted to say, start over as a 6 year-old - this would have to include me going back in time, or the deal's off.   To be able to re-live that time would be priceless.    Sounds like a movie starring Nicholas Cage, or produced by Hallmark.

But - how difficult would it be to make the changes I want or correct the mistakes I want, and still keep my timeline intact so that I marry the same woman and have the same children?  And what about time travel/Back To The Future paradoxes???

On second thought, gimme the 10 mil.  Keep it simple.

Let's say for the sake of this exercise it's go back in time to your 6 year old self.

I'd probably be an ideal candidate for the red pill, as I don't have any kids that would be almost certainly not exist in the future of the new timeline. The thought of going through childhood again isn't great, though I could correct some things that I still deal with today. Reliving college and beyond is an interesting thought, and would likely be all the better this time around. But I'm still young enough that a $10 million bank account starting now is the most enticing option. I'd buy some land in Montana to spend the warmer months and a place in Arizona to golf through the winter months. Repeat for 50+ years.

Imagine doing all that shit and dying in an accident.

Fuck becoming 6. So I have no more family or friends? Everyone I know just thinks I died? Give me the money.

Answer would take some thought if you go back in time (with everything and everyone else in your life). As it stands, this is a no brainer.

I just don't see how the red pill is appealing at all. More time and knowledge is cool and you could certainly use those to make a fortune. But have fun being back in elementary school again.

Elementary would suck. But High School and College, with even less responsibility than I had at the time, would be amazing.

I keep seeing people say they'd go back in time and invest in Apple, etc. Ok cool but I don't remember having enough money to invest in anything when I was a child!!

As far as going through school again, I'd actually be fine with that. I always loved school, whether elementary, middle or high school. Another round of undergrad? Yes, please. All that said, I'm still taking the money.

Ill take the money. Every time i see this question I think the same thing. I'd probably have a mental breakdown trying to figure out memories or if any of what I "know" is real. Pretty lame answer but its how the scenario plays out when thinking about it.
