...the girl who sang the awful song, “Friday”??

Well, she, uh, grew up.

Never heard of her or the song until just now.  The lyrics sound like Weird Al Yankovic got a hold of a "serious" song and parodied in his inimitable style - except there's nothing to parody here.

Certainly nothing worse musically than anything I've heard by Nirvana or Nickelback, lol.

Was ridiculed beyond anything...but took home millions. I think worth $1.5M now. Unreal.

Never heard of it so listened to about 30 seconds on youtube.  It was as terrible as advertised.

I think it had like 150M views or something ridiculous like that.  But probably easier to go viral because it's so terrible than try to make something actually good.

I remember this song being very popular back when I was teaching high school kids.

I think its way more than that actually. It had to be removed initially after a ton of views for legal battles over rights.

Whoever wrote the article cropped it. I took it from them.

As bad she was in that song, there was a rapper in it that was even worse.  Talk about a guy destroying he street cred in less than 30 seconds.

Pretty sure he was the producer. I think his whole business was making music videos for rich people.

Good God, what a train wreck.  That dude should spend the rest of his life apologizing for it all.

Nice little hustle that dude had for himself, though - soak some rich kid's parents for thousands just to spit-out a stupid song and video.

Actually a pretty interesting story.   So the naive and delusional mom was smart enough to retain rights to the song and video.  I'm sure the dude was like "haha, whatever" to that request.  But then it went viral....
