How was the trip?

It was great! Weather was perfect and the house was in a great location. We ate at Leon's, Élevé, Home Team BBQ and Callie's Hot Little Biscuit. Explored King Street, Battery Park, saw the Calhoun Mansion. We also did a harbor tour. Went to Folly Beach and Fort Moultrie before our flight left Sunday evening.

Cannot wait. April 12 is departure for Ireland/Northern Ireland. This will be one of the longest waits of my life. So excited for the trip.

I've been casually researching a day hike to Half Dome. Learning all about the lottery system and what it takes to actually do the hike, it's no joke.

Booked my flight for July 2 to Punta Cana for my sister in laws 40th bday.  Even better that we were able to pay for almost all of the flight with our southwest points from our southwest visa card.  Also going to a wedding in June in Clearwater, which is a very cheap flight since its a thursday wedding and we are flying in from wed-sunday.  Basically the points covered both flights except for 340$ each for me and my fiance.

It is a lot of work nowadays to travel.  It never fails at least one of my flights gets delayed or even worse cancelled.  I def get anxiety going thru airport security and all that mess

Pumped for my Vegas trip coming up in two weeks. Two days, one night at Caesar's Palace and two rounds of golf at TPC Las Vegas.

Also just landed two free tickets to Billy Joel in Milwaukee on April 26th. I like him well enough, but this is more for my wife. Our friend works for a casino up there that has been ties with (former) Miller Park so she can get free tickets to basically any event there. Not sure if we'll stay in Milwaukee the entire weekend (our friend is flying to Ireland at 6am the next morning) or head to Chicago Saturday morning.

Returned from Denver yesterday. Sad Tuesday. :(

Awesome trip overall. Met my nephew, hiked at the South Table in Golden, crushed an Atomic Bob's burger (amazing), snowboarded a day at A Basin (conditions sucked), went to a warehouse party, got my ass kicked at indoor bouldering (next level gyms in that city), and visited some solid dispensaries.

Now I don't have shit to look forward to. Zero trips on the calendar for summer.

Any beach towns in Michigan that would be good for a long weekend this summer?

Grand Haven is a very cool town with many beachfront rentals--lots of micro-breweries, etc.

Not sure about the surrounding towns, but I've wanted to go to Torch Lake for years.

I'd love to be within 6 hours of Cincinnati. Grand Haven is about 5:45 away.

Grand Haven is really nice. The nature gets more beautiful the further north you go, but until Traverse the towns get a bit smaller. Grand Haven is kinda the best of both. South Haven is also really nice. Decent little town, walkable, good restaurants and bars. Boating town with good public beaches. Probably closer for your drive.

I’ve stayed at Michigan City (Indiana) when I was younger, but have no memory. My parents said it was nice though lol.

Holland is going to be a big(ger) city feel, which, knowing you, you won’t want. So I wouldn’t even bother looking in that area. I’d focus my search on New Haven and South Haven, then go from there. All along the coast you can find little towns and beaches.

Between those two is Saugatuck State Park (Sand Dunes) which would be a fun half day trip, if you wanted. It’s nothing compared to Sleeping Bear Dunes, which is up near Traverse City, but it’s still really cool.

Any good golf courses around those areas? My wife wants the beach, but I'm looking to play 18 each day.
