I think anytime a person is killed by deadly force there should be an examination of how it could have been prevented. Just dismissing it as welp, nothing the guy or system could have done is not helpful.
Ummm, do you honestly believe that doesn't happen? Every shooting is definitely reviewed, and I'm reasonably certain anything obvious that could have been done better forms the basis to update training.
But acting like you have unlimited resources to perfect policing, as if that would even be possible, is definitely NOT helpful.
Response times should be reviewed in general. And I'd be shocked if bigger police departments don't put significant resources into that. Again, it's extremely unhelpful to chain together events likely out of that officer's control that don't directly affect the choices he has to make there. An officer that did everything correctly within his control, and you STILL want to use this incident to gaslight the system.
Hate to agree with QO, but the best ROI is [much] more responsible rhetoric from the left that includes a healthy dose of personal accountability in police interactions.
