Maybe it's just because it was Bieber starting and he was on today, but I think it was encouraging that Francona just kept it to him and Clase. Seems that in the playoffs, so many managers outsmart themselves by diving too deeply into analytics and match-ups and third time through the line-up and stuff like that and wind up losing games because they take the starter out earlier than they would in the regular season and their bullpen arms can't handle the remaining innings.
