Looks like NO is about to get absolutely pummeled again.

Hurricane Laura?  I know there's a pandemic and all, but there had to be better choices.

I live in a hurricane zone, but on the east coast, Laura is a beast. Pray for those people along the coast bc it’s going to be beast.

I saw something about there being two hurricanes. What’s that all about?

Disaster porn.  There was breathless anticipation of two tropical storms merging to form an "unprecedented" massive supercane.  Tropical storm Marco basically disappeared.

Anyway, Laura could hit as a Cat 5, and the 20-ft storm surge has been called "unsurvivable".  Could be worse than Katrina.

I enjoyed the visual of the two hurricanes square dancing in the Gulf, which was said to be a possibility, however remote.

That said, I'm extremely worried for LA and TX, and I hope people are getting to safety before she hits.

Laura going to a CAT 4-5 was unexpected right? It really picked up in the last 24 hours it seems?

I follow a lot of weather people on twitter, it was unexpected but they knew about a day ahead of time. Doesn’t help for a full evacuation. Too many people and too many variables. It’s gonna be bad

So, very off-topic but still weather related. The forecast for Colorado this week is incredible. This weekend temperatures around Denver were in the upper 90s. However, a cold front is coming through Monday night and the high for Tuesday is only 36 with up to six inches of snow expected. Then it’ll be back in the 80s again by next weekend.

That happened to me in Denver last October. The weekend before I got there was in the mid 70s. It was in the 30s when I got there on Monday and accumulated at least 6 inches of snow over the three days I was there.
