How many auto accidents have you been in?

In your entire life, as a passenger and driver, how many accidents have you ever been in? Let's include any vehicle with an engine, so atv, dirtbike, motorcycle would count.

I was in a bad one as a child. Coming home from some church function with my friend and his mom when I was 4 or 5. I had no seat belt on, she rolled the truck and I flew out the windshield and landed in a field. The truck rolled a few times and probably would have crushed me if it rolled once more. Lucky.

When I was 17 or 18 I was dicking around on our 4-wheeler (no helmet because I'm an idiot), hit a bump and got tossed over the front. I was knocked out for some period of time, probably not long, but had to push the atv out of the land I was on because one of the front wheels was no longer attached to the steering assembly (something like that, it couldn't steer but the wheel still rolled). At one point the thing ran me over because I had a tire track on my back. Lucky again.

Since I've been driving, the only issue I've had that I can recall was a semi hitting an orange barrel in front of me and I had no where to go to avoid it. Busted up my front bumper a little bit but nothing major.

A lot of close calls due to moron drivers but I've been lucky to avoid everything but the barrel.

Hit a hawk up in Grayling, MI right in the grill of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Feathers everywhere. Spun 1x due to startling and overreacting on the wheel, but was able to straighten out and came to rest against the guardrail. Only pain damage. The grill, however, was toast. And that bird fucking evaporated. Just remnants inside the grill/hood and 1k feathers.

I totaled that same Grand Cherokee following my buddy out of a bowling alley in HS. He cut the turn early cause the cars ended at the end of the row. Swerved and avoided the giant light poll and cement in front of him (which of course was NOT working, so pitch black at 10pm). I wasn't so lucky. Braked, but probably still smoked it at 15 MPH. Airbags did not deploy, but steering went out, engine needed replaced, virtually everything was toast.

Also hit a fire hydrant that you could see from our backyard. I was an idiot, and fiddled with my ipod while on the neighborhood street instead of in my driveway. All well and good 355 days of the year. This was one of the 10 mornings after snow/ice and hit a patch and spun. Might not have mattered, but trying to regain control with 1 hand vs 2 cant be ruled out. Was going about 20 MPH at the time. Best part is I reported it to police because the hydrant was knocked off and figured the city needed to know and fix it. They gave me a GD ticket.

In high school was in a car that got hit from behind. Everyone was okay.

I was hit backing out of a parking spot by someone driving 60 thru an apartment parking lot. He totaled my car. I was fine insurance ruled it 50-50 fault since I was backing out and he was speeding. Was hit from behind at a stop light when I stopped and the car behind me stopped for an ambulance and a third car hit the guy so hard behind me he hit me. Was also hit from behind at a stop sign. It was minor and he gave me all his info. I’m pretty sure he was drunk at the time.

So 4 no injuries but car was totaled in one.

My wife is a terrible driver and somehow still accident free.

First job out of college was driving to work in Elyria, didn't realize the freezing rain. I had a 4x2 Toyota pickup, hit a patch of ice, went into a plowed field and the truck flipped 4x's and end up landing on all fours. All tires were flat, I actually had loose change and business card stuck in the very top of the passengers side window. Likely had a concussion as they picked a little larger than pea size chunks of broken glass out of my skull. Mom had the old "rub some dirt on it" mentality so I went home.

Have also hit deer 4x's. First time the buck flipped over the top of my Eagle Talon, landed on all fours and kept running. Another time I had 3 right in the middle, between my two headlights, yet somehow only hit one. Deer was struggling in this guy's front yard, he brought out his shotgun and said "not gonna waste a shell, I'll just slit it's throat." I said "good luck with that" and left, knowing he was likely to be a new inductee into the Darwin Awards as the deer still had full power in it's front legs.

Another time we were driving up route 11 to Erie and it was a sunny/clear day. Once we hit a stretch before out exit that was like Little Siberia. By the time we hit the patch of snow it was too late and we spun off the road into a tree line. This was Christmas Eve. Vehicle was still operable and we were closer to Erie than home so we just got a hotel in Erie for the night. Once we got past that stretch, bone dry again to Erie.

Only other time was when I ditched a vehicle in a snowstorm but wasn't really an accident.

1. Dad driving me to golf course…old woman turns right in front of him, we slid into the back time/temp stand. 3.5/10

2. I was driving my grandpas Porsche at age 16 yrs 2 months….welfare drove across dark parking lot with lights on and drill my door. Fortunately 1977 Porsche’s were tanks 4.5/10

3. Slid off road on black ice driving to college….couldn’t quite get back into road 3/10 (was scary AF fighting it seemingly for 1/2 mile

4. Got rear ended in Chillicothe, sore neck 3.5/10

5. Old man turned right in front of me and stobed up my wife’s ankle bad. It still bothers her. 4.5/10

6. Hit deer 2/10

7. Deer hit me blew out my driver’s window 4.5/10

8. Hit deer 3/10

9. Deer hit my bumper 1.5/10

10. Hit a black angus cow at night on a 4 lane highway. It was sideways in the road and I didn’t even get my foot to the brake. Totaled that civic. 8/10 collision but I wasn’t hurt, but fucking shook. Thought I hit a bear.

I don’t think any of those came after 2011

Got a few:

Took a turn too fast on wet road, totaled eclipse into a ditch. Luckily kids left before cops came (I didn’t call them), had someone in the hatch part lol.

Got rear ended in Alero, rear ended someone, some dickhead drove across a parking lot through spots, and my front passenger corner scratched/ dented their whole side, not my problem.

Spun my jeep on ice on the way to Youngstown twice, didn’t hit anything.
