With or against the grain?
Couldn't add a poll on my phone.

I don't. Just trim my beard when it needs it.
When I did shave, it was a little of both. With a safety razor.
With the grain
With
Against. Shave my head in the shower and edge up my beard in the sink
I start by shaving with the grain on the sides of my face and neck, then if some spots still feel rough, I go against the grain.
In circles. Norelco, 2.5 times a week
Can't remember the last time I razor shaved. I don't even own a razor. Stubble trimmer if I'm going short.
Manly beard currently.
Mostly against.

Great minds think alike...or in this case shaves alike.

I assumed from your profile pic that you had your hair chewed off :)

This.
I actually go
1) Electric razor
2) With the grain
3) Against the grain
I am against the grain when I am shaving back to back days (wedding weekend, etc). With the grain to shorten and then against to get smooth if it’s been multiple days between shaves.

Pretty much how I do it, except my rule is "against the grain if it's been 48 hours or less; with the grain first if I go 3 or 4 days"
After I retired, I realized going without for a day isn't nearly as noticeable as it used to be. Now my beard is so white, 5 o'clock shadow looks more like noon glare.
This was the first time I've ever heard of people shaving against the grain on purpose.

I thought it was the only real way to shave?
When I did shave (head and/or face) that was the only way I'd shave.
With.
What percentage of millennials have beards do you think. Walking through the airport today, it seems like easily >50%.
