"Distance /absence makes the heart grow fonder"

How far away did your girl/boy friend live from you in high school?

Going to a city school most of the girls I date was within a 1 mile. For a very short time one lived across the street (not good)  . I did date a few girls in other school district Canton South would have been the longest 10 miles

What was the longest distance relationship you have had?

Before going in the military I had a girl friend (later became my wife) going to BGSU that was about 180 miles, before going into the military I broke off the relationship.

I only dated a few people in high school. The longest was six months and he lived 30 minutes away.

I've had three long distance relationships. Each lasted about 2-2.5 years, and they were between 1.5-2 hours away from where I lived at the time.

In HS, college years the furthest was maybe 5 miles max.

Being married I've away hundreds of miles away up to 3 to 4 weeks at a time 6 occasions, 5 months once, and 9 months I was 7500 miles away.  Currently a couple of weeks in California and it's true each time it seems to fortify the marriage even more.

It tears a lot of relationships apart though.  Of the 12 people who were in relationships after the deployment, 2 ended up in divorce, 1 engagement ended and 2 other relationships also ceased.

It's not easy, but if you look at it as conquering a challenge, doing what damages others, it is easy to forge a bond as "us against the world"
