Going back to the dogs conversation, I got a call today that our pet spa is opening back up featuring curbside service and pay over the phone. :-)

The fuck?

We're doing a slow rollout to get back to the office. I won't be going back until masks aren't a requirement.

I don’t follow. But curious if you’ve killed the coronavirus yet with your guns?

I know we're supposed to wear masks out in public next week. At least at work, we won't have to in our cubicles -- just when we're going to the kitchen, bathroom or whatnot. Seems weird to start having to do this two months after shit got real, like deciding to use a condom after you already unintentionally knocked up the girl. But if it helps block the odor of cleaning supplies, I won't be overly upset. That shit gives me some sort of mild reaction where I'll leave work with a mild sore throat that lasts for about 30 minutes or so.

Lol bro, it’s not so hard to wear a mask.

I just don't understand how people think "waiting this out" is a practical strategy.  Even if we somehow got cases near 0 in the US, it seems almost certain to come back in the fall/winter since this is in almost every country in the world.

And it also doesn't seem like the summer will "burn it out".  Florida has been very hot and we know they've had a lot of cases.  We've seen plenty of data that it spreads very easily indoors - and ever hear of air conditioning?

I have no problems for a short period of time, like if I have to go to the store or whatnot. But for multiple hours a day, I have a feeling it would get uncomfortable after a while. At the least, it'd be a transitional period to get used to the feeling of having one on. And having to constantly adjust it because I'm the sort of person who needs a glass of water near him at work to sip from regularly, so it'd be this "lift up, sip, put back, lift up, sip" deal that would quickly piss me off in the "drinking water shouldn't be a multi-step process!" way.

I was just busting S&L’s balls. Those masks suck to wear. It’s mandatory in Italy now and I find them pretty suffocating. Most Italians don’t wear them properly either.

Yeah, I've heard at least some of the masks make breathing uncomfortable.  I definitely don't think people are going to wear one to go out jogging.

Seems like two people wearing masks should make it very difficult to transmit the virus (I'd like to see some clinical tests, though).  We could buy every American 3 masks a day (if they were available) for a hell of a lot less than this shutdown is costing us.

Gotta feel for the NYers that are going to have to jam into those subway cars to go back to work.  You could easily hoof 3-4 miles each way to work in the summer to avoid that, except then you have swamp ass all day.

And you shouldn't. The odds of getting the disease while outside in general is extremely low, provided you aren't extremely close to people. It can also physically effect your breathing which could lead to issues. There was an article the other day where someone passed out from wearing an N95 in their car.

I know everyone is testing more, and supposedly the % of positive tests has come down.  But the number of positives has been basically flat for over a month, and the % of positives hasn't come down nearly as much as you'd expect with a lockdown.  So I really am questioning how much these lockdowns are helping.

Also how is contact tracing going to work?  Are we going to have to self-quarantine every time we cross paths with someone who tested positive?!?
