You do realize 6% of a small sample size equates to a huge number in general population right?
6% of a mortality rate that is probably less than 0.5%, and would equate to less than 100k people in the general population....So a healthy person with no underlying condition (and the flu kills such people every year - it's usually due to an undiagnosed comorbity or an overreaction of the immune system) has a very slim chance of dying from this.
As awful as it sounds, poverty/economic depression kill a lot of people, too. We are literally spending millions of dollars per life to save people who probably only have a few months to a few years left. And if we continue down this path, we will also end-up taking years from people, if not killing them, by letting their jobs die.
A vaccine is at least 12 months away. It's a far deadlier choice to continue these lockdowns for another year. Most experts don't think coronavirus is going away, so we need a plan to get back to work and a plan to deal with flare-ups. Staying home until this thing burns itself out isn't a practical option.
