This is not about public nudity, ie. flaunting your balls, breasts, ass, penis, or vagina.

I guess the question would be "so what?". One may consider going against "societal standards" as rude, and as stated earlier, you're entitled to be offended if you so choose. Now what?

I can understand the difference between popping out a breast for show and breastfeeding. I personally am fine with it, I am stating that in general society is not because of the nudity factor of a breast.
I have also stated that just because the breast, during breastfeeding, is accomplishing is biological function, doesn't make it "ok" automatically by societal standards. Men aren't allowed to whip out their penis to take a piss in full view of others even though that is the penis' biological function.
That is the point, until society doesn't view the female breast as "nudity" then breastfeeding in public will have a stigma on it UNLESS you cover up (which all of us have said multiple times).

Our government does not always equate to society standards.
I think the fact that 47 states have passed breastfeeding protection laws is great (last 3 are Idaho, Virginia, and South Dakota).
That doesn't change how people feel about it is all that I have said above, and it is "asking for attention" or "rude" if you just plop it out just to see if anyone says anything do you.
Like I said, it literally is extremely easy to breastfeed without showing your boob at all while out in public. My wife did it for 3 kids and didn't ever have to put a blanket over the kids heads.

I mean I understand you are trying to go the hyperbole route "SO YOU THINK FEEDING A BABY IS THE SAME AS PISSING IN PUBLIC???"
However, lets leave hyperbole out of it and realize the argument that "it's natural" that most use can be said for MANY things that shouldn't be publicly displayed.
Most of society just wants the "compromise", feed the baby whenever/wherever you want, just have the breast mostly covered so that only a real creep would be able to see it.
That isn't really that hard to do nor is it that much to ask.
I mean I was sitting right in front of a woman Sunday at church, in the church service, who was breast feeding during the sermon. No one had a problem with it no one even gave it a second glance.
Why?
Because she did it respectfully and the breast was never out. Like I said, it's not that hard.
