Boosted or nah?

I had Pfizer, but got boosted with Moderna because that was all they had.  Otherwise, there was like a two-week wait to get an appointment.

Arm was a bit sore for a day or two, and felt a bit "off" for a day.  Upset stomach mostly, sort of like you might get if you were starting to come down with the flu.  But less of a reaction than when I had my second Pfizer shot when I had low-grade fever and chills at night.

Wife got her’s Thursday but hadn’t been feeling great since Tuesday…every year sinus stuff. Felt tired late Friday and slept well into Saturday. This morning felt the best she has since Tuesday BUT her smell and taste senses were pretty much not working.

Tested positive.

I’ll keep testing but if I’m still negative through Tuesday I’m getting my booster on Wednesday

I see now people are starting to say you're only fully vaxxed if you've had the booster.

So what will that mean for people who got a natural "booster" contracting Covid?  You're probably smart to keep getting tested so you can prove it.

Moderna booster mid afternoon  yesterday (along with Flu shot in other arm).

About 9 pm, started feeling chilly and achy, then the scratchy throat. By 7:30 this morning, began to feel better.

No reason to.  I'm healthy.

Was similar for me.

Pfizer booster earlier today.  Sore arm is all I feel.  That's all I felt after the first two as well.

Well, I got my Moderna booster yesterday morning.  By the evening i was shivering from chills and had a decent fever over night.  I didn't get out of bed until 1130 this morning.  Still have slight chills and a headache, but hopefully slowly getting better.

It's weird, because the first two shots I had very mild symptoms.  I figured a half dose of the same shot would not be an issue.

Probably means your body quickly recognizes it now and creates a quick and powerful reaction.

Scheduled Moderna booster for next Friday so I wouldn't have to deal with work if I feel like ass.

First two were Pfizer, but decided to mix it up. Mostly because nearby places are only offering Moderna boosters.

I did fine after my third Pfizer.  I had a headache the next day and felt slightly tired - nothing that affected my day too much.

I kind of wonder if that isn't bullshit so people aren't discouraged by reactions (instead turning it into a positive).  Never heard that about the flu or other vaccines.

I guess you do KNOW it's working, but I'm not sure the degree of reaction, or even none, actually means much.

I have no idea regarding that, but when I was a kid I used to have terrible allergies and got shots regularly.

Every time I got a shot, I would flare up and be absolutely miserable in the waiting room. God, I fucking hated it. The nurses would always say....that's how you know it's working! lol

I'm not a doctor, so I don't know either.  Pure speculation.  In my case, I didn't have a harsh reaction.

Must mean that it's not working.

Perhaps it isn't.  Maybe they gave me sugar water.

I was pretty down from the booster / flu shot from about 12-48 hours after the shot. I got mine on a Friday night and spent most of the weekend in bed because of it.

Now I have a cold that has been miserable started as a super runny nose now has transitioned to a cough. I got a Covid test and was negative it I heard this is going around.

Of course you are a coin flip. What were you expecting? I am sure there is a vaccine out there that actually keeps you from getting a disease. But that is not how 99% of them work. A vaccine doesn't magically keep someones cough cells from entering your body. You aren't walking around with an invisible forcefield that only activates for certain diseases lol.

You get the vaccine because when you are infected, it fights it off quicker, more effectively, and reduces your risk of symptoms/bad symptoms. All that inherently reduces — significantly — the spread of the virus/disease from you to someone else.
