OK guys. This is a serious question. One of my Good  buddies died about 3 weeks ago. He had many beers stashed in a garage frig and among them are 3 bombers of 2014 Stone dbl bastard.

How brave ya gotta be to drink one of these fuckers?

Sorry to hear about your friend. And drink up. I would have absolutely no hesitation cracking them open.

Washington Platform Saloon on Elm Street.

Did he like the Po Boy? I've never been there, I always forget it exists.

He did. Smelled amazing. They also season their fries with Grippo's BBQ seasoning. I'll definitely be going back when I'm back to eating.

So far, 7+ pounds down in 3 days. Average daily expenditure is $5.47 -- which is higher because of being out for two "meals." A Guinness or Yuengling at home costs me $1.50 or $1.13, whichever I'd drink. Take those dining out meals out of the equation and add an in-home meal, the average expense is $3.47 a day.

I have sleep apnea, but one thing I've noticed is I definitely can fall asleep quicker. At times I could spend all night just laying in bed without sleeping, but now I can sleep much earlier. It is only 3 nights of sleep and a definite calorie deficiency. One perk to this early-on though!

Sorry about friend... As for the beers I would definitely drink them. They will probably be pretty good too.

Just to expand on the old beer, I drank a few beers Curly J gave to me on my 30th birthday (6.5 years ago now) within the last 6 months, and some were 5+ years old when he gave them to me, I believe.

And yes, they were delicious.

Time for the disappointment. I caved today for lunch. Was moving furniture for 3+ hours and it did me in.

Over 8 pounds down in nearly 5 full days. Not tons, but it's what I expected (around 2ish per day). For a 2-3 day fast, multiple times a month. This is definitely something that is doable. If you aren't that active, it's doable. I nearly did myself in on Tuesday with 3 hours of training in 90+ weather. Today was just like that. As I'm trying to exercise more, I simply couldn't sustain much more of the calorie deficiency.

I don't have much taste of sweets right now. So, that's a good thing. Never was tons into them, but got a Diet Coke and really don't want it. I will be incorporating a lot more fasting now. I did a 16/8 intermittent fast for 2 months earlier, and didn't get much out of it. This was much better to me.

You been to Dankhouse?

I have enjoyed all brews I've had from Buckeye Lake.

Beer is probably not a good idea during any type of fasting, as it is a grain

I'd stay away from Diet Coke in general, but it is also is not considered fasting, only water and black coffee

The beer fast goes clear back to 1600s (maybe longer), it's not all that bad. A brewery worker in Cincinnati just did this fast during this past Lenten season too.

Only did the Diet Coke after I broke the fast, which I stated in that post.

Yeah I like Dankhouse a lot. Buckeye Lake is available in our local Giant Eagle and Kroger so that gives them the edge over Dankhouse.

His name is Del and works for 50 West. I know him. I talked to him a few times during his fast. He said he put on weight over the winter knowing he was going to do the 48 day fast. He did make international attention doing the Monk fast. I just saw him a couple weeks ago a a Jungle Jim's Beer event.

Great Lakes seasonal release Nosferatu is now available. I highly recommend. It is an Imperial Red Ale and it is awesome.

What does nitro do to a beer? I tried the Nitro Pumking tonight and couldn’t tell much of a difference?

It's mostly to make the beer creamier.
