Just curious what everyone thinks of the new Apple device.

Looks like it's going to start out at $3500, so definitely way too rich for my blood.

Either way, it gets us one step closer to our future, which is the dystopian world of Wall-E.

The virtual tourism aspect is really interesting.  Not sure I'd want to work that way, though (I don't even use my touchscreen for work).

Virtual home theater is also really interesting - and some headphones, if not even earbuds, are now getting pretty good at spacial audio.  But, again, not sure I'd want to watch all my video effectively 12" from my screen.  Curious to see what extended, long-term use of AR headsets does to people's eyes.

But when they make Doom for this, sign me up!

Posting this for the photos of the headset. It's not bad looking, for what it is. Curious to see how this evolves, and what newer, smaller headsets are in the future.

For what it is, it definitely looks premium and well built. The lines are aesthetically pleasing, even if it is a bit silly looking.
