If there’s the amount of parody next year, like there is this year - I think I have a new strategy for this thing lol.

Yeah, I will still target the top scorers from 1/2/3 seeds. But after that, I think it would be smarter (and probably more fun the first weekend) to go with the top scorers overall vs a 5ppg guy on Purdue...

I went with a completely different approach after last year's abysmal showing.

Brutus' rounds 3-8 have been huge. Those are the crucial rounds IMO (and also a complete crapshoot a lot of the time). Rounds 1 and 2 are typically locks and rounds 9-12 you are hoping to get lucky.

Brutus got Walker MSU, Kalkbrenner Creighton, Jones Xavier, and Council Arkansas between rounds 3-8 and those 4 guys alone have combined for 137. That is huge.

I don’t think he’s walking away with it. Game or two swings a certain way this is still up in the air.

Oh for sure. He will lose one of Johnson/Walker tonight in KSU/MSU game. But both have proven to be big time scorers so he at least advances one of them.

Houston and Creighton are big favorites so safe to assume Sassar and Kalkbrenner advance (even if Houston were to falter, he gets to advance Omier from Miami.)

The big one I think is Xavier/Texas. If he can get Xavier advancing, that is huge to get Jones advancing (but a lot of us have the other X guys too - so it just depends who is scoring for X on a given night).

Brandon Miller - worst overall #1 pick of all time since us doing this? Did he even crack 20 total points in 3 games?

Maybe… was Ayo or Kofi taken #1 ever?

Pretty crazy that my team scored almost as many points in the sweet 16 than they did in the first round of the tournament lol.

You got updated projections Laley after all this madness?

I’ll have them tonight. I won’t include todays games though. I’ll update this round completely Monday morning.

I'd imagine, just based on what is left, Sportschampps is the favorite. He has got 3 guys left and they are UConn guys.

Mirg could make things interesting today with a Miami and Creighton win as he has Miller from Miami,  Kaluma from Creighton, and Davis from FAU.

Brutus I am sure still has a decent shot based on the shear amount of points he accumulated early on and he's still got Kalkbrenner from Creighton going today and Omier from Miami.

JSchilling same boat as Brutus. Had a ton of points early on and still has Carr and Disu from Texas and Nembhard from Creighton.

I may have an outside shot, but a Creighton loss today probably eliminates me. I have Hawkins from UConn and will advance one of Pack, Miami or Hunter, Texas today. Have Alexander from Creighton going today.

Here is what I have. Projected is obviously based on seeding, and not Vegas. So not 100% accurate to how we may expect it to play out.

Something is up with your projections with Brutus.

Based on true seeding and current PPG, here's what I have for final projections:

1st. Mirg - 510 points. 2 left. (That's w/ Miami and FAU both losing in F4. If either pull out a win, he walks away with this.)

2nd. Brutus - 497 points. 1 left. (Hoping for a Miami win over UConn to advance Omier)

3rd. Birddog - 486 points. 2 left. (Have Hawkins for UConn and Pack for Miami, who both are capable of going off for 20+ on a given night - but both could have 7 points on a given night too. I will lose 1 of them in the F4 matchup too)

4th. Sportschampps - 467 points. 3 left. (Huge UConn fan with Sanogo, Karaban, and Newton. Could make things interesting if these guys go above their average and they make it to national championship).

Fair warning, this is just eyeballing and doing some quick math. I could be off on some of these. I went off Laleys current points going into todays games.
