Kirstie Alley, 71

There's a name I haven't heard in a long time.  Looked it up - George Wendt and John Ratzenberger are still kicking, as is obviously May Day Malone.

She actually did have two credits in the last 4 years.  And a couple series I never heard of with 10-12 episodes in the last decade or so.

DAMN - Cheers ended back in '93.  I guess that's about right, just felt like there was more overlap with Seinfeld timeframe than it was.

Can't say I'm shocked. Remember reading the reports a year or so ago about him retiring from movies where it sounded like he has some sort of brain deterioration condition that was all but killing his ability to perform.

Sounds like he can't talk or recognize language. Article I read said his family was hoping for a "Christmas miracle" so it sounds pretty bad.

That's what I remember reading.  Not that he was failing, just trouble speaking and hearing language.

Very sad.  A silver lining is he got to go out doing what he loved - he coached practice the same day as his emergency.  What a character.

Damn. I took batting practice (I think it was 10 swings) at Great American 12ish years ago and Mr Perfect was the pitcher. He was a funny dude.

4 years ago before a Reds game my son and it were in elevator to go up in Reds HOF…as door shuts an arm reaches in to stop and on jumps Browning….stood right beside me. We all got off on the top floor and he had us walk with him and he and Danny Graves were signing autographs. Talked to us all the way and brought us back behind the table for the first autographs and pictures.

6 months earlier he was at the Huntington Mall at a Reds Caravan and I brought my rookie card of him to sign…apologized to Buddy Bell who was right beside him for not having his card ready.

A good dude.

I hate this news. RIP Mr. Perfect
