When I posted a link that quoted Dylan Mulvaney's meeting with Biden, Biden was quoted reacting positively to Mulvaney bringing up trans affirming care to minors. Biden was already receptive to it. The activists have already got a good foothold and will continue to push this along.

Except there's not really anything Biden can do that would survive the courts, much less a Republican successor.

Never getting 60 votes in the Senate.  Biden won't be signing anything relevant into law.

There's been so many things that never should have had enough votes, but did anyway. 

In this case, if big pharma wants to make money off of it, they will. The lobbying and pressure big pharma can apply will get the votes.

Also, does it matter what he can or can’t do? The Democrat line is now that you should be able to mutilate/ fuck up children. Pretty fucked. 

And some people believed him when he said he was a centrist and a uniter.

There's a lot more than some people.

There are only 2 sexes, and zero genders.   What everyone has are personalities, which change as a person grows.  We all act differently, and think differently at all stages of our development.  Personalities change constantly, but mutilating your body at such a young age, is irreversible, and should not be allowed for minors.

Surgery is really only a last resort after counseling and numerous other approaches, that's according to the guidelines.  Puberty blockers or surgery should only be used, IMO, if the child is otherwise suicidal.  Even then, you'd have to be fairly certain it was the only way to prevent a suicide.

I think the problem is the guidelines aren't strict enough and maybe lack sufficient review/controls.  And that's a huge problem when you have activists who let their feelings get in the way of common sense, rational approaches. 

The problems that arrive after having surgery is that the mortality stats don't really change. The number hovers around 40% before/after surgery. Many times the surgery compounds bad mental states  because unexpected medical issues arise and cause further anxiety, frustration and depression. So the "last resort" tactic doesn't hold up very well. 

It's akin to carving off body parts of people who suffer from anorexia. They will still see themselves as being overweight.

With so many people detransitioning now, with the same problem, it's obvious that surgery isn't a standard one size fits all key. 

I just don't think that the medical field has caught up on this enough to even build a reliable method of treatment. All of the activism pushing kids into the front lines is stalling the process too. As I've said previously the centers in Europe who spearheaded child transitioning have halted the practice because there is no net benefit with too many kids left physically and emotionally damaged for life. 

I suspect that this will ultimately be battled out in societal culture, ending in a massive political battle with who pushes the hardest. It may end up being a single issue vote for an election. 

Anyone following the Call of Duty drama over NickMercs comment on twitter

Anyone following the Call of Duty drama over NickMercs comment on twitter

I don't do any gaming, but I did see it pop up in my twitter feed. I have no idea who NickMercs is, but I did see Dr Disrespect (I think that's his name), who I had heard of for some reason, call out Call of Duty for their decision. Are they getting the Bud Light/Target treatment now?

Apparently a couple of trans activists at the White House event posed topless for a photo.

Now maybe not a huge deal as the event was mostly over, and they were perhaps in a discrete area (no other people visible in the photo).  And, as someone else pointed out, the one was actually a biological man, and the biological woman had a double mastectomy so there was no actual indecency [quality argument - respect].

But I do think this is an example of the sort of disrespect and inappropriateness that people want to protect their young children from.  Most trans people I'm sure would never behave this way, but many activists do....and an activist is who you're most likely to get at a school.

Hopefully that's a more nuanced argument for people who just assume these parents are transphobic.

I’m not sure how bad the fall out for COD will be since Warzone is free to play. My friend tweeted the original tweet that NickMercs tweeted his response to. I haven’t reached out to him about it but he’s friends with most of the people involved so I’m sure it’s awkward for him.

He basically caused a shitstorm between friends and the game he commentates for.

Have no idea who the guy is, but he tweeted “they should leave the little children alone” in regards to the Armenian/ Antifa fight. Apparently that is controversial?

According to the outrage crowd his tweet means he supported the violence against the peaceful protesters.

This sums up the current strategy for any type of activism. Be very visible showing the extreme side of their platform, so that what they are actually shooting for seems tame in comparison.

It doesn’t do much to dispel the idea a lot of people have - that transgenderism is deviant sexual mental illness.
