The perks of a shutdown

I thought this was a pretty good piece.

I certainly can't get myself to the point of thinking all governance is better privatized, but certainly, it seems like plenty of it would be.  I did also appreciate that it didn't just gloss over the fact that there is a problem being experienced by several hundred thousand employees going without pay.

All in all, it's a good read.

It's stupid that a brewery can't introduce new products because the bureaucrats that approve the labels aren't working.

It's more stupid that such a government function exists.

It's most stupid that people think this particular bureaucracy should exist.

As far as airport security, can't they have a self-service line for people willing to touch their own penis and throw away their own toiletries?

I'd be first in line.  I'm more than happy to be the one groping my own netherbits to make sure I'm not smuggling a razor blade or nuke under my testicles.

I'd sure hate myself for throwing out my favorite toothpaste, though.  What an asshole.

Interestingly enough, even Vox admitted that not only was Spain thriving in the wake of no government at the time, but even BECAUSE of no government at the time:
