So you agree with what people are saying, that the left has gone farther left than the right has gone right...

So you are basically now admitting to just being a troll on the political board. You agree but want to be obtuse/stir trouble anyway.

Classic jmog, calls people a troll when they come even remotely close to bashing repubs/the right. And yet you still claim you’re not a repub. Lmao

The original point I made was that the right is also getting further right. Whether they’re moving more or less than the left, I don’t really GAF about.

Now im done talking about it. It’s kinda pointless to come into a right wing cesspool and asking for you guys to admit that you’re heavily, heavily right winged.

I look at it this way: I can poke at AOC and Ilhan Omar all I want. Ohio didn't hire those two, so they can't really control much of what goes on there. But if you run for political office and win, you're going to be criticized.
Thing is, even liberals are criticizing those two, including... dare I say it... Nancy Pelosi? Her latest comment about their supporters was that had something like five lol!

I've been giving this some thought, and I don't doubt that it's true, but I would be curious to hear examples.  Maybe you're referring to the intensity with which positions are held, but I'm personally interested in hearing you articulate this a little more.

No intent to argue or criticize at all, I assure you.  I only wish to hear more on what you mean.

You literally agreed with the basics that everyone else said but yet still felt the need to argue about it for some reason. That kind of is a troll.

If you pull up the Libertarian Party website and look at their platform, they list about 30 line items. I agree with 27 of them or 90%.

I do not agree with NEAR 90% of the republican platform, probably closer to 60% and even less for the stated democratic platform from 2016 POTUS elections (closer to about 30-40%).

So, please tell me again how I don't know myself and know that I am a libertarian. Pretty much the only items I agree with the republicans and not the libertarians is abortion and capital punishment.

As someone who has traveled all over California mostly for work, I would agree. Most of California outside of LA and SF is very nice.

Certainly true from a geography / landscape view.

Survey: San Francisco has world's highest construction costs

San Francisco now has the highest construction costs in the world, with an average cost of $416 per square foot, according to Turner & Townsend's 2019 International Construction Market Survey. New York City is next at $368 per square foot.

Construction Dive (4/11)

Sure, build me a 2,000 square foot crackerbox --- that will be $832,000, before the lot, driveway and landscaping.   LOL  / Not

Well, if you're Libertarian then according to Democrats you're a conservative.  You are either with the liberals, or you're a right-winger.  And as everyone knows - because Dems keep telling us - right-wingers are ignorant racists.

I'm not a Republican or a Conservative.....but I rail on Democrats because I'm anti-socialistm.

I've seen about 3 blue checkmarks saying things like "The day Cher turned alt-right" - one of them being a lefty. There are actually many hot takes about her tweet, but isn't it actually a moderate position that she has?

This, from @chick_in_kiev, in The Washington Post, is the sheerest form of disgusting bulls***. I blamed no one for the Notre Dame fire, since it was an accident by all available evidence, and imputing malicious intent to me is simply gross. (link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2019/04/16/how-far-right-spread-politically-convenient-lies-about-notre-dame-fire/?utm_term=.f2fb015a46af) washingtonpost.com/outlook/2019/0…

Hey,@washingtonpost, any interest in fixing this nonsense? I noted that Notre Dame is a monument to Western civilization because it is. That has nothing to do with blaming Muslims, and to suggest it does is simply a lie.

This is a popular tactic, on both sides, but more so on the left.  It's a "dog whistle", or other coded language, so they can outrage people by smearing someone with something that wasn't actually said.

From the right, the dog whistles are all about socialism these days.  And the left, it's all about some "-ism".  Every position conservatives hold is somehow rooted in bigotry.

The irony is most of the people that hear these dog whistle aren't the ones who are supposed to be able to hear it.  You're a conservative, so how would you know that's a left-wing dog whistle?

The charity percentages from the dem tax returns are pretty funny too. Everybody’s taxes should help the poor, but I’m not gonna help with my own dollars. Clowns

They probably think they’re doing actual “public service”  so they don’t need to be charitable.

Such a joke

I've thought this before, too. God only knows what goes on in their minds outside of gaining money/power, but this doesn't seem to be a stretch.

They took all the tax breaks they could get in order to pay as little as possible AND they were cheap asses with their charitable contributions.  Sums up socialism perfectly.  Socialism is great when you are on the top dealing with everyone's money, but yourself.

Edit: BTW, which says a lot considering the US is the most charitable country in the world.  2017 alone the US was responsible for $400B in charitibale contributions. The people who cry about selfishness/greed and advocate for more taxes need to open their eyes and realize the people in this country are amazing.

I did not vote for the film maker.

Not voting for a libertarian does not mean one is not a libertarian. Unfortunately we have a 2 party system, many people believe they need to vote which of those 2 candidates are closer to their belief system.

Let's look at my history in POTUS elections...

1996-Clinton (D) (if I was old enough in 1992 I admit I would have voted for Bush 1)

2000-Bush II (R)

2004-Bush II (R) (hated Iraq war, but Bush was in general such a nice/good guy it was hard not to vote for him, almost pulled the lever for Kerry here)

2008-Obama (D) (yeah, had a brain fart here, but couldn't put Palin 1 heartbeat away, liked McCain but Palin...good Lord)

2012-Romney (R)

2016-Trump (R)

So no, I have never voted for the libertarian party, I vote for the R or D that, in my opinion, "fits" closer to libertarian as possible. To be honest, unless the Ds shift course back to the middle I don't see that being a D in a long time.

To answer your Ohio Governor question, I actually voted for Cordray. I hated his stance on healthcare but most of his other platform ideas were better, in my opinion, than DeWine's.
