Omar and AOC going full retard on the 9/11 thing. They aren’t converting anyone to the left with their bullshit.

I'm afraid there are many more, rather than less, of these clowns in the pipeline.  This is what safe spaces and identity politics have done to some millennials.

And it's funny watching Pelosi and other establishment Dems realizing they've created a monster.  Like, oh my gosh, there are people who are actually too stupid to realize this fearmongering is just about winning elections and not an actual crisis!  But here come the village idiots demanding action because you've conned them into believing action is desperately needed.

The radical and blowhard - demonstrated by Trump better than anyone - gets all kinds of national recognition and, basically, free campaign ads.  And that's huge for re-election.

I guess we'll find out if these people are actually serious about all this nonsense if they get rid of the filibuster in the Senate.  Harry Reid did this a ton - he protected Dems from having to vote up or down on a lot of garbage by blaming Republican filibusters.  You can't get re-elected telling everyone the world is going to end when you have the votes and do nothing about it.  You can't make a career in politics herding people into single-issue voting blocs and then actually fixing those issues.

Looks scientific

Anyone can pull something off the internet showing what they want it to show. I just googled the right shifting further right and found 5+ articles.

I think you guys/gals just WANT the narrative to be out there that the left is shifting further left.

Or factual, objective evidence says that the Democrats are shifting more left. It’s not really opinion anymore. Statistics and all.

Someone's never been to La Jolla or Big Sur.  Plus, Sacramento was pretty nice when I was there.  So was San Diego.

Wish I could say the same about LA, but last time I was there, the yellow haze was thick.

As someone who has traveled all over California mostly for work, I would agree. Most of California outside of LA and SF is very nice.

I didn't examine this particular study.  But in similar ones I've seen, they always seem to set the baseline skewed left, which tends to make it look like Repubs are moving further to the right and the Dems aren't moving as far to the left.

I'd argue the Repubs have, for the most part, actually drifted a little left (with the country and society, in general).  Yes, you had the Tea Party movement but they've always been a small minority in the Repubs with little influence.  We'll see if these new bloods in the Dems actually influence policy, although they are very popular in the media because they hit all the right alarmed globalist notes.

Not withstanding Trump, who arguably isn't really a Repub.  It's fascinating to me that just 15-20 years ago, Dems were pretty much pushing the same protectionism that Trump is.  And they're demonizing him for succeeding with the same policies they failed with.

Of course they are. But the repubs are also shifting more to the right.

Hell just look at this site as an example.

Any examples of conservatives on this site who have been shifting further and further right from where they were years ago?

This place is a right wing cesspool. Didn’t always used to be that way.

That’s not really answering the question.  Who moved more to the right than they used to be?

I never said dems didn't move left and repubs didn't move right.

I feel like I've seen Republicans shift left in good and bad ways.

On the bad side, while they still pay lip service, fewer seem as insistent on conservative tax policy.  Gone are the days in which Republicans insisted that their own politicians be fiscally conservative, both in taxes and in spending.

On the good side, it seems like far fewer Republicans these days care which adults want to marry and touch each other's naughty bits or blaze up in their free time, so that's a plus.

As for Democrats, while it seems like the majority is also migrating further left, I have noticed some local pockets who are becoming more pro-2A and more distrustful of assistance programs, so that certainly makes them seem like they're headed right.

I didn't say you did.  You said repubs (which I admittely thought you said conservatives) have also moved more to the right.  I am not denying that and also believe we could see a much further shift in years to come as a reaction to the lefts radical shit.

What I am asking is you followed that up with a "look at this site for example."  I am wondering who you believe on this site has moved more to the right than they previously were (I assume in the last few years).  I think most of the posters are the same, except the difference is this site has gotten smaller.  This thread is no different than the "disgusted with obama" thread that was around for 6+ years.  Maybe you're just sick of politics and need a break?

The bolded is completely inexcusable imo and why I stopped registering as a republican in 2012.  I think this is a fair assessment, especially since the GOP is trying to put up a bill for OTC birth control pills.  If you told me the GOP would be advocating about this 10 years ago I would have LOL'd.  I think the GOP has realized they pretty much lost the millenials, and they don't want to fuck up on Gen Z.  I will be interested to see if they try to legalize weed before 2020. I know a couple dems who are pro 2A (i.e. Manchin and the former KY Governor), but who is skeptical of the assitance programs?

If you can’t see it, then I’m not going to be able to convince you to open your eyes. Might as well just drop it (which I’m doing).

Another lazy/weak response, but sure I will drop it since you can't answer simple questions.

I think most people on here can be pretty flexible with most things. Probably all of us would like to see government become more fiscally responsible. Probably all of us don't really care what sex you are, what religion you are, what your skin color is or who you  have sex with.
This thread is for those that have problems with the progressive/far left agenda. Forgotten are the days when people bitched about liberals. I for one would love to have more liberals to go back and forth with. But I think most "liberals" are just tired.
So instead society is dealing with the people who think with their color/sex/religion/bed partners and are demanding everybody else do the same. Not only is it quite bossy, but the public punishment for being contrarian to it has gotten people physically attacked such as their skulls being cracked open, shunned, fired, wolfpacked, banned from social media and in some extreme cases, dropped by banks. There is no redemption for heresy.

Sportsandlady, I can only suggest that you find some more people from the far left to sign up for this sight and try to explain to everybody else why they think the way they do and how it is a better way of thinking it. And even this isn't all that much of a significant suggestion. So perhaps the best thing for you to do is maybe argue against what you disagree with on your own. If you're tired of a lopsided conversation/thread that's probably the easiest thing to do. Pushing back can at least plant seeds. But in the meantime I don't think it's fair to expect people to change their minds for your sake (or at least pretend to) or hector them into silence. Otherwise you end up exactly where you're at right now and that is "dropping it".

Anecdotal vs factual statistics. It has been shown repeatedly that the left is going left at a much faster rate than the right is going right. You may not like the facts, but that doesn't mean they aren't true.

Youre just making up shit.

So you agree with what people are saying, that the left has gone farther left than the right has gone right...

So you are basically now admitting to just being a troll on the political board. You agree but want to be obtuse/stir trouble anyway.
