^^^Isn't this pretty much the same way Trump supporters treat CNN at his rallies?

LOL, the "alt-right" and "antifa" didn't really exist prior to Trump.  Just sign them all up for an MMA cage match and be done with it.

The whole west coast is rapidly becoming trash. The absolute lawlessness that has saturated Portland has metastasized to Seattle.

"Cause some of us didn't really come to talk, some of us really come to die... are you willing to die for a youtube shit? Yeah but that's what's going to come, man, death is coming to you dude"

Like the white trash klansman aren't really representative of the people of the midwest - for example, I don't think these yahoos represent the west coast rapidly becoming trash.  I travel out there fairly often and life seems to chug along just fine.  These idiots do not run things despite what it appears like on TV.

This is nothing to ignore IMO. When reporters get threatened with death and are stopped from walking down the sidewalk, there is something very wrong. We don't live in a country where this is tolerated behavior. Just like the klan doesn't control Birmingham, Alabama anymore, nor should antifa rule any city on the west coast. This crap happens in California (we don't have SnapCrap in Ohio yet do we?) too so it's not like it's just Washington and Oregon. And the more it happens the more common it will become. I think it's a mistake to downplay it.

I agree with all of your points.  I'm just saying that the environment out there is not like that shown on television in reality.  These jokers are bad - no doubt.  But the reporting suggests that they are doing and controlling way more than the reality.  Portland, Seattle, SF, etc are not under siege.  That's all I'm saying.

True, just like Trump events aren't Klan rallies. Bottom line, there is an Alt-Right, there is an Alt-Left, both are small in number but should not be ignored.

The View was on in our break room while I was heating up lunch. Steve Scalise was the guest, and Whoopi was asking if he has a different view on gun control after what he went through (he doesn't). She also asked him what type of guns the founders envisioned us owning (after, of course, stating she was a gun owner), essentially begging the question of could they ever imagine regular old folks owning "assault weapons" in the future. Private citizens owned literal warships in the founders time. The most powerful arms on the planet. They wouldn't give two shits about citizens owning a semi-automatic rifle.

Have any of you seen the Gritty memes people on the left are trying to make popular? For those that don't know, (I didn't) Gritty is the new mascot for the Philly Flyers. Lefty types are trying to meme him to be pro Antifa and other groups.

She got roasted for reading something mentioning the number $21T, and then she ran with it, even though she didn't comprehend it whatsoever. Tried saying that the Pentagon couldn't find $21T and tried using that as why there should be Medicre for all (not sure how she even equated the two). Problem is, the Pentagon since the 1700's has only spent $18T. She completely misrepresented the article and it should be embarrassing for an elected official.

Let me guess.  If we can afford to lose $21T in defense, we can afford $21T for healthcare for all.  That sound about right?

This is what happens when you elect people to federal office who make poor decisions and have no prior experience in governance based on them just saying what you want to hear on the campaign trail.

Play stupid games; win stupid prizes.

She got 80% of the vote in the general.  Which PROVES [if we didn't already know] that most people will blindly vote for whomever has an R or D next to their name.  And you can bet money most of those voters were laughing their asses off at Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Trump, etc...

I'm still trying to figure out how someone studies economics at an American university and graduates a communist...She actually is a dunce - how can you not possibly comprehend that $21T is not the right number?

It has seemed to me that the ability to do well in classrooms seems to mostly require just the lower levels of Bloom's Taxonomy.  Regurgitating information that you can remember might be impressive if done in volume, but it still doesn't really do anything to show evidence of the ability to reason.

She doesn't appear to reason much at all, which explains why so much of what she says seems to be an inaccurate recollection of something.

Economics is much more than rote memorization, I assume at a school like BU.

But a degree certainly doesn't mean you actually learned something.  I wouldn't be surprised if she graduated with something less than a 2.5 GPA.

yes spending 90% of your time in the base of the Blooms scale is directly from teaching to the tests in school.

Well, think about it, though.  How far might one get memorizing historical results, as well as popular theories and the musings of known economists?  Initially, I sort of thought the same, but when I got to thinking about how far simple memorization/regurgitation can be taken, I could at least see it applied to even focuses that should, and are probably thought to, involve a deal of reasoning and semi-original thought.  I saw that in my studies as well, which were heavily philosophy-dependent.  There were students who did fairly well, even though the majority of what they did was cite and borrow from other thinkers.

Oh, it wouldn't surprise me, either.

Make no mistake, I know that there are people who are well-studied and economically literate and believe vastly different things about macroeconomics.  But she has yet to demonstrate herself as economically literate.  If any of us had a gun to our heads and had to pick maybe ten people in our personal spheres of influence who are more competent in articulating economic policy, I'm pretty sure most of us could do it.

Oh, I know.  My wife taught for ten years.  But once you get to college, the respective institutions should ideally focus on getting students familiar with HOW to reason and less WHAT to think.

Had a friend spend a semester at Oxford, and he said they actually do really well with that.  Very little classroom activity.  Most work is one-on-one meetings with teachers who guide the students as they do their own work and reason for themselves.

She is literally dumber than a box of rocks.  She is also a socialist, understandably.
