They did play a mens team awhile back before leaving for WC.  They played a U16 team in California and lost to them 2-1.

Altough that does surprise me....

I played a few p/u games with some girls on the women's team in college.  Not UConn, but D1 mid-major.  I was a decent player, but it's not like I ever would have started on a D1 team in high school.  Anyway, the girls mixed it up but I was surprised by weak they were (and I was deliberately trying NOT to be physical, but I was playing).  I didn't have any problem playing against them, whereas the 12th man on the men's team would easily embarass me.  Heck, we used to play some of the "unskilled" football players and they would just dominate with their athleticism.

The women can be skilled, and often probably more fundamentally sound...but the difference in athleticism is too much to overcome.  Athleticism is also usually why the men's sports are more popular.

Yea a pro womens golfer might beat the average Joe from the tips but put her in the back and she would struggle

This is the only article I've ever seen of this happening. That was in 2017. But don't get it wrong, the USMNT would win by 20+ against the women. The disparity is that great. This obviously has nothing to do with how they should be paid as QO said, just saying.

Man, I really try to not post AOC stuff all the time bc otherwise it would be everyday. Didn’t even talk about her staged border photos. But today at a hearing on the border crisis, she ASKED to be sworn in (which they normally don’t do) for the pictures. Get the fuck outta here. There is video of it.

As gut, I believe, said, 6 years out of BU with an economics degree and she was tending bar.  It is no surprise she found a home in politics as a Marxist; I mean democrat.

She supposedly graduated with honors.  Strange thing is, Econ isn't typically a program you can get thru simply by memorizing questions and answers.  Well, I guess it's possible if BU's program sucks and the tests are a bunch of dumbed-down multiple choice questions.  Then again, especially if the program leans far to the left, Econ is a subject easy to really emphasize the "social" over the "science".  So in a program like that, all that matters is the answer (logic and proof be damned), which a natural-born leftist knows instinctively.

Otherwise, yeah, you graduated with honors in a non-puff field from a decent school....and don't have a real job in a good economy?!?

I won't repeat what's already been said here - economics should always prevail here.

But it does have me thinking.  Women's sports - at least some of them - seem to be missing opportunity these days.  What I mean is this.  Back when Martina, Chrissy Evert, Stephie Graf, Monica Seles, and some others were at the top of their games, women's tennis was every bit as fun to watch as the men's, sometimes it was even more interesting.

My point is why don't the women's sports do more to promote rivalries like tennis did back then.  Not just in tennis, but golf, basketball, whatever.  If they did more of that, I think people would be more apt to pay attention, learn the personalities, watch and produce more revenue (and higher pay).  Take golf as an example.  I don't know any female golfer with personality and fire that is out there.  If there were some of these to root for or against, I'd watch women's golf.  Hell, their golf could be fun to watch.  Their swings are fantastic.  If there were some big rivalries (ala Martina vs. Chrissy), it may start getting them what they seek.

I don't know what's in another person's head.  But based upon her conduct, AOC appears to love any attention she can get.  She's probably still deeply in the throws of the "holy shit, I actually got elected to Congress" stage.  The danger is if she stays and begins to believe her own BS as being true.

She is a attractive woman though.  I suspect that plays a role in why we hear from her so much.

Well... one of AOC's staffers basically admitted that her green new deal was basically a way to change the economy towards socialism. So there's that.

I'm starting to think she's a complete puppet, which would make this a good audition to become a talking head (read whatever is on the prompter!).

But that stunt today I can't believe anyone would voluntarily look like an idiot to hatch some evil-genius type photo op. Could be the quintessential bought-and-paid-for politician.  We know there was an organization behind her and others trying to primary moderate or less-leftist politicians in otherwise Democrat safeholds.  She will say and do whatever her handlers want her to.  You can't pull that off with career politicians who already know how to win elections.  Too dumb to realize she's being used, and probably wouldn't care if she did.

But while we are on the subject... watch her try to “gotcha” in the hearing today and get smacked.

Not surprising at all.  That's the real consensus behind "climate change".

AOC is a puppet for the $ backers.  She has that agenda shoved down her throat by someone.

I agree she is a joke but to care about her test scores/intelligence and not trumps is stupid. Easily a draw

Difference is, people have built-up a tolerance to Trump after years of unavoidable exposure.  They're used to him.  AOC will learn you don't give everyone the full dose right off the bat.  You can't constantly insert yourself into the news cycle -  it has to be a gradual thing.

There's an analogy here that would be NSFW.
