I don’t know how she could be in that environment long term – wow.
We’re on the same page in our house; although my sibs have somehow fallen victim to the left …….too much liberal urban echo chamber.
My wife and I are pretty much the same person when it comes to political beliefs. We've kind of evolved together over the last decade or so, me from a Bush and McCain voting Republican and her from an Algore voting and then completely apathetic Democrat, into staunch, principled libertarians. It's a little rougher for her given her field of work (public education, recently high school, currently at a large university) is a breeding ground for progressives. She finds herself biting her tongue a lot and just getting along.

Not really. He grew up in a liberal household, I grew up in a conservative one. We both still lean our respective ways for the most part. We do agree that both major parties are absolute trash and Donald Trump is an idiotic piece of shit and horrible human being, though.
Somewhat, we mostly just laugh at the complete idiocy of the entire system. We don't take things too seriously that do not affect us directly.
She's Venezlauan, so she's been loving Trumps recent comments regarding Marduro and their fucked situation.

Probably because of having to spend time around you.
She tends to be more Republican as I used to be. Over the years, I've shifted more to the night watchman form of Libertarian. Both of us could not stomach the idea of voting for Hilliary, but while she could hold her nose and vote for Trump, I went with Johnson.
Not really. We are both socially liberal, but overall, my wife is more on the liberal side than myself.
But,I grew up with family that was more split. My aunt is very liberal while uncle is a Limbaugh conservative. My parents were pretty down the middle and rarely pushed me in one direction or the other.
Pretty much similar views now in our life. I became a little less right (still probably pretty far right compared to some here) and my wife has moved from a moderate (basically uninterested and didn't lean either way) to being moderately on the right.
My wife and I are pretty similar. I would call us middle of the road to slightly left. Except for one sister, the rest of my entire family is hardcore, Fox News, angry, Trump backing, slightly conspiratorial conservative. I'm an exception I think in part because I don't live near any of them and they all live close to one another - I think that's a big factor.
I don't remember my parents being hardcore political when I was growing up. In the last 10-15 years, though, they are way right. When I go home to visit, Fox News is almost always on and almost any conversation can veer into pro-conservative, anti-liberal.
Mrs. Fish is a pretty hardcore Pinko...as are our daughters. It's an entertaining life, to be sure.
I grew up in a family of staunch democrats. I guess I'm what you'd call a fiscally conservative/socially liberal democrat. I think my type of democrat is a dying breed.
My dude comes from a very conservative right family, although he's pretty much apolitical. He's only interested in politics as somewhat of a spectacle, cheap entertainment. He did vote for Obama twice and was disheartened enough to pretty much turn away from the democrats altogether. He's also not a fan of Kasich's whatsoever lol

My wife is a hardcore Republican. I'm a conservative libertarian. We agree on a lot of things except drugs. I think they all should be legal.
Yes, we do. While I grew up in a Kennedy Democrat household she grew up in a Reagan Republican home. We have been married a long time now and are both social conservatives with a strong belief in military strength/support combined with a state like balance budget approach at the federal level. For that to happen there would obviously have to be significant social program cuts. We both believe in safety net programs but there has to be some significant reduction to get to a balanced budget.
We also agree that most of our issues could/should be solved by the people acting to change the culture and environment instead of it requiring legislative action. We'd like to see our government lead from that perspective.....by offering solutions that people "can" act on as posed to being "forced" to act on.
I was raised right, she was raised left. I don't know how active her parents were in politics, but I know mine were not very. Mine are now FOX News watchers, smfh. My wife and I are now very apathetic political followers. We hate all political rants from the local to the federal level.
My wife and I pretty much cancel each other's vote, and we never miss an election.
My wife and I are college education professionals that are smart enough to not follow the virtue signaling dog whistlers of the left.
college educated?

I don't know which is better: botching "college educated" while trying to say that he's smart...or immediately following up the claim of being smart by regurgitating generic right-wing buzzwords ("virtue signalling dog whistlers", lol). Really makes a person look less like he's intelligent and more like he's a guy who spends way too much time listening to political talk radio.
Pretty similar but her and her family's staunch support of everything Trump and the R do is nauseating and almost is enough for me to want to vote the other way but I cannot bring myself to do that.
So I likely wont vote again except for local issues that affect me directly
Wife and I are both libs but she was not really that politically conscious when I met her. Certainly not a gal who would post about politics on the internet lol. Her political commentary is mostly pertains to the attractiveness of political candidates lo.
She grew up in Toledo in a family where being a Union Dem was just part of the culture sort of.
However, she was dumbfounded when President Trump won and his election has made her more politically conscious.
