Yeah, that's pretty much what I said.

I think Biden is a doofus and I didn't vote for him. I am just interested in people getting vaccinated so life can move forward.
1. it was tongue in cheek
2. The government Requiring a shot to stay employed is a rather totalitarian policy, so if the shoe fits…

No, but you said they shouldn’t be able to work and therefore afford to buy food or pay for a place to live.
The most effective way for a government to round up and segregate individuals is to restrict their access to engage in legal commerce. Also I double down on skeptical when the words "common good" are used together in reference to any act of government.

It's the logical conclusion of your thought process.
It's one thing to think getting vaccinated is a good thing. It's another to invoke the "common good" and cheer on the government forcing it on individuals through threat of losing their livelihoods.
When this mandate doesn't work, what's the next step?
I also find the claim that getting everyone vaccinated will allow us to move forward to be HIGHLY dubious. They WILL change the definition of being "fully vaccinated" to include having a booster. And, like we're seeing in other countries, will expire after a certain number of months. There will be booster hesitancy, and it will likely be greater than hesitancy to the first round of shots. That is, unless they start forcing it on people, or roll out a vaccine passport to lock people out of society for not keeping up with their boosters. It will turn into the CCP social credit system on steroids.

My "common good" was more in line with obeying traffic laws, not pissing wherever you please, etc. Not a step toward communism. I get the concerns about government overstepping on here. But in this case, I am of the opinion that move vaccinated people is better for us all on multiple fronts. I don't believe all of the fears of a morbid future on this will come to pass, but that's my gut feeling.
If history has taught us anything it's that governments never devolve into totalitarianism under the guise of "public health."
And I'm sure giving powerful pharma companies a running spigot of free money won't incentivize them to keep this shit going for as long as possible.
Imagine having that level of optimism after the last 20 month.
Incentives matter. And the incentive structure right now is FUCKED.
Racist!
