Look at us. We elected Portman and Brown. Two completely different Senators.

Then again, I'm one to think Ohio should usually have Senators of the opposing party as the state has usually been a mixture and bellweather.

Just checking if Brown is a "actual democrat".

That'll be a strong yes from Ptown ......even though he is a rabid leftist.

This.   So, we have established that "real republicans" according to Ptown are RINOS.

Better to have RINOs and DINOs than what passes for either party's core at the current time.  First, if you're able to piss off the hardcore "OUR TEAM!!!" politards on both sides with regularity instead of only pandering to the base, you have to be doing something right. Second, if you're an "INO", that means you actually might be willing to do crazy fucking stuff like "work together", as opposed to simply grandstanding and then running to check their social media feeds to see what they got people to say.

If it's impossible to sever politicians' corporate ties to make them actually work for the people who vote for them instead of special interest groups who fill their coffers, we can at least try to preserve the "INO" so it's at least sort of possible to pretend we have mature adults doing shit instead of a bunch of apes throwing shit at each other while trying to see who can screech the loudest while a bunch of smaller, even less intelligent but probably more obnoxious, apes are cheerleading from the sidelines.

Oh can't say that on this board, you get labeled a liberal....because there is no such thing as moderate or middle ground.

Plenty of middle ground people, most of us not named Spock and QO. You just pretend to be one of them.

Part of it is just luck with his term ending in a favorable political cycle and the other is the Republicans shovel up a dumbass to run against him.

You have never once posted anything that has represented what heretic described.  I would consider heretic an "actual" left moderate.

It's the dumbass S&L syndrome, where you get caught up in reading spock and QOs posts and brush the entire website with their leanings.  My favorite was when we took a poll on this site for who we all will vote for in the 2020 election, and the majority of the site was NOT voting for Trump.

Oh please. I've posted plenty of down the middle things over the years. Progressives and liberals are just as bad as tea party Trump Republicans blah blah and other topics. This board is so far to the right on things it makes me look liberal.

It's all perspective and bubbles.

The fact I routinely vote Republican and Democratic may shock some of you on here. Hell, I've been a huge supporter of Portman since he was my Congressman years ago.

Or just maybe you’re a leftist. It’s kinda funny you haven’t figured that out yet. You must be friends with some crazy AOC types to think you’re towards the middle.

Lol. I am, but we disagree on a lot.

It's like you think people can't have views that cross party lines.

Also, using the term leftist shows your bias.

Uhh no Mr. Biden has dementia, guy, nope. He is a smug right wing poster. I'd be shocked if he ever agreed with any democratic or liberal idea.

The very definition of moderate and middle is you see the merits of policies on both sides of the aisle. You also see the flaws. No one side has the answer and no one side is right or wrong.

Posters apparently cannot understand that and cannot fathom one can support both liberal and conservative candidates or have both liberal and conservative views depending on the topic or subject.

Take the governor for example. I disagree with him on his social issues and stances, but totally agree with his business stances that led to Intel and some of his Covid policies, just some.

My views have been crafted from time spent around liberal and conservative areas in Maryland and Ohio. All about perspective and the areas and other people you interact with.
