The tax giveaway was crony capitalism .............it is republican state senator Williams, among others, who are calling for its end.

MSDNC host says that handgun bullets are not fast enough to be effective against school shooters.  Why does anyone take these idiots seriously.

They think we're living in The Matrix, or something. This is the most laughable argument against "assault rifles" I think I've seen.

I think you have a lot of Ron Burgundy's doing cable news.

And when you try to make every angle of a story sensational and alarming, then you get stupid shit like that.

Reading through the comments on Feinstein's twitter. Anyone that says "no one wants to take your guns" is so full of shit it's unbelievable. These people would GLADLY have fellow citizens murdered by the State for the simple act of owning a scary rifle. Yet gun owners are the violent ones.

It has just been proven yet again that even with the BIGGEST government ever, shootings such as this cannot be prevented by the BIGGEST government, which should logically mean that improving our self defenses is tantamount. Yet the left wants even BIGGER government, confiscation of firearms which provide for self defense, and vilification of an organization that had NOTHING to do with the shooting.

The denial of reality and incredibly irrational positions on the left are mighty disturbing.

Of course this happens much less (if at all) in a whole host of rich countries with bigger governments than ours but don't let that stop your inspiring and persuasive rant!

I agree there are leftists that want to take your guns. Personally think that momentum is swinging there way and will continue to do so when there are no piecemeal solutions to gun violence - sort of like how major economic crises lead peoples to turn to socialist governments.

And personally that is why I believe we should try some kind of firearm regulatory reform with the gun industry getting on board.

Lol In 2018 there are kids who are offended when you point out FACTUAL points about differences in gender. Not sure how you could fail as a parent more than to raise a kid like that.

Oakland mayor tips off illegals of pending ICE raids.

Should make her a good candidate for a cell block.

http://insider.foxnews.com/2018/02/28/ice-director-800-criminal-aliens-unable-be-located-after-oakland-mayors-warning

The mayor had better hope that those who escaped because she tipped them off do not come back around and harm innocent civilians, especially children;  The blood is on her hands.  What a despicable, lawless move.  How she is not already removed from office is a mystery.

We'll see - if millennials and younger voters start to make the prospect of firearm prohibition more of a political force maybe we'll have a shot at preventing it with other reforms.

I don't think young people actually are what you see on tv or in the news. I also think Independents lean more towards agreeing with gun ownership, so as much hoopla as the morons on twitter get, I don't think it is as big of a movement as it seems.

Just one article, there are obviously a ton saying both they are more or less liberal on gun control.

I still don't really get it though. There are less than 400 people killed with a rifle per year. It is nowhere near the epidemic everyone is making it out to be.

It's the politicization of "shit happens" for votes.  There's, what, 30k people killed each year in auto accidents (1/3 in alcohol related accidents)?  11k gun-related homicides.  3500 unintentional drownings.

But move heaven and earth to prevent a few hundred deaths in mass shootings?  And banning gun, in a country with 300M+, isn't stopping these people (even if they somehow can't get a gun).

Gun control as a solution is like banning cars, or bars, to prevent drunk driving deaths - which I think to 99.9% of people would be intuitively a stupid idea.

Funny you would say that like it is some undeniable fact. I've seen reports that surveys have found Generation Z more conservative on social issues than Millennials and Gen X. That doesn't mean "Super Conservative" or even nearly as conservative as Baby Boomers.

Also kind of funny to think that Generation Z will be the great conservative hope for America when they are the ones spouting intersectional gender binary blah blah and coming out as trans in high school etc., etc., and doing all the other socially librul stuff that sends conservatives into shock.

My hunch is Generation Z follows the generations that came before it and winds up more librul generally on social matters.

Hmmmm.....it's almost as if a socially liberal, fiscally conservative party could do really well.  Too bad the Libertarians can't get any money or media coverage!  Almost as if the two parties and their propaganda arms collude to keep them from gaining momentum.

My sense is that it's not about pure numbers but that high profile killings by firearm shock the public consciousness and it is things like that that can cause political action. For example, Happy Hour was outlawed in Massachusetts in 1984 because a 20 year old died in a drunk driving accident.

What has always stopped it is the small group of very mobilized and engaged firearm rights proponents who are much more passionate than the voters who might favor more firearm prohibitions.

These kids worry me as someone who would like to keep a world where I can buy an AR-15 under the right regulatory scheme because it seems their fervent passion for firearm prohibition finally matches the passion of firearms rights proponents.

And that sort of "compromise party" would help clear out the trash who should be irrelevant like the bible-thumping conservative and the Bernie-esque liberal that thinks we should have an unlimited pool of money to give to all the poors.
