So apparently Al Franken is supposed to step down today after getting hit with several accusations of sexual assault. Makes me wonder how many politicians will see their way out in this era of sexual misconduct.
^Not surprised --- reading is not for everyone:
"Citing an anonymous and unidentified official, Reuters reported earlier Tuesday that Mueller’s team had subpoenaed records from Deutsche Bank, where Trump is believed to have a line of credit and to have conducted tens of millions of dollars in transactions."

Meanwhile, the Rs are bending over backwards to endorse an accused pedo, so they can maintain a majority in the Senate.
Read today that the one accuser has a stepson who says she is lying. The other accuser has a brother who was sent to jail by Moore.
Hard to know the truth.

Franken is giving his speech right now or may be done with it by now, I don't know. But I agree with you.
Honestly, I dont have any vested interest in either Franken or Moore (meaning that I don't live in either of their respective states). I think Franken is doing the right thing and that Moore is not. On the other hand as I've said before, if I were accused of doing something that I did not do, I would go to my grave denying it and proving myself innocent. I think that due process of the law should not be ignored in either instance.
All I can say is that I'm glad that the nationwide discussion is being had at this time.

The situations are not identical, though. Franken can step down, and run-off or appointed successor will be a Democrat. The allegations against Moore came out too late to put a different Repub name on the ballot. A write-in alternate is a nice solution, but a guaranteed failure in practice.

All said while using the exact opposite reasoning with regard to any allegation - however suspect - against Hillary, Obama, etc.

law enforcement agencies don't issue subpoenas unless they have reason to believe that they will ascertain evidence of crime. Hope that helps.

I don't think that's entirely accurate, not with respect to routine info gathering such as financials (i.e. they will subpoena financial records as part of an investigation whether they expect to find evidence or not).

Well, you're right in so far as politics goes. But I was referring to something much different - the right thing to do. They rarely mean the same thing! lol

Beverly Young Nelson tells ABC News she forged a portion of the high school yearbook inscription she and attorney Gloria Allred presented as evidence Republican Roy Moore made advances on her when she was a high school student and he was a local prosecutor.

Context and source man. You are in the school system, even you should know the difference between a primary and secondary source.
If the story says ABC reported, then cite the actual ABC story and transcript.

Here's an ABC story -- the first I found by typing her name and ABC, although I don't know if it's the one Fox was referring to. She says he signed it and she added notes under it, which would be the date and a location (which are pretty obviously in different handwriting than anything else located in the message). Dumb of her to not immediately disclose she added those context notes to it, because the Breitbarts and QQs of the world are obviously jumping all over that shit with their "Well, if this is a bit fishy, NO ALLEGATIONS EVER AGAINST HIM HAVE MEANING!!!!!!" insinuations.
