How much positive influence are we saying the president actually has on the economy, outside the removal of negative policy?

Am I in the wrong room?

The best and most effective thing a POTUS can do for the economy is stay the fuck away from it and let the free market do its thing.  As you mentioned, this includes removing the handcuffs.

A simple look at the hard data shows a steady line of improvement in all areas last time I looked. I haven’t seen anything major he’s done or drastic jumps in any areas creating major shifts. He mostly golfs, attends campaign rallies, watches tv and is on Twitter for the most part. He did give corporations a major tax break, but I don’t see manufacturing jobs ever coming back to the us when they can pay people 1$ an hour in another country. He has cut a lot of regulations which is never a bad thing usually. I don’t know how long Obama gets credit but I feel comfortable now saying things are staying right on track with where they were headed. The economy isn’t my strong area and I haven’t looked at the data in a while so it’s possible I’m incorrect. If he gets re-elected and we keep this up I will give him the credit. If he actually did something with healthcare I would be more inclined to say he had a good presidency. For the most part he seems to have spent his political capital undoing Obama legislation just to say I told you so

You obviously spent no time looking at manufacturing employment numbers.

Under obama, about all we can say is we survived, barely.  It was American business that gutted it out for 8 years despite every Marxist style assault thrown our way by the radical obama administration.  Now that we have a pro-growth president and administration, business is not under threat every time we clock in in the morning.

Some people just have no idea how bad and antagonistic those 8 years were to businesses just trying make a widget, meet a payroll, and survive. Or for those innocent Americans targeted by that regime and subjected to the weaponization of multiple federal bureaucracies.

I believe the POTUS has little to do with the economy myself, just pointing out the hypocrisy of those that blamed Bush for the economy problems for 8 years and now want to give props to the current economy to Obama.

I believe Congress actually has more to do with the economy than the POTUS since they control the purse strings and create the laws. The POTUS stated policy obviously can affect the economy if/when he convinces Congress to pass laws/a budget inline with the POTUS's policies.

Things go up and down there are lots of ways to look at the economy. Using your data of gdp. 2015:2.9, 2019:2.9. No drastic changes. We are basically right where we were. If the gdp goes down this year I’m sure you won’t call trump a failure, and if it goes back up I’m not sure he can be called a genius.  He is doing a fine job with the economy but it’s not staggering by any measure. I hope it continues this path

Oh good lord geeblock, you just gerrymandered the data given to you.

The real problem is that congress delegates massive rule-making power to faceless federal bureaucracies that can destroy businesses and individuals.  Yeah, congress can pass a tax cut and that is great for the economy, but they also let federal agencies run amok, and if you don’t have a president putting in capitalists to run those agencies, look out.  It is shocking that these agencies have more direct power over business than even congress. Having a president that gets them off our backs is EXTREMELEY important.

I tend to agree, which is why I thought the mention of the tariffs was an odd addition to the cause for a positive swing in the economy.  Frankly, the the tax cuts, as they are, were more an attempt to duct tape than to outrightly repeal, as well, but at least conceptually, tax cuts are an example of removing governmental manipulation.

The chant was bad, but I missed your posts about her anti-semitism and sympathizing with terrorists. There is good reason people have a problem with her.

The only group treated almost as bad as blacks especially in the south are Jews. You can’t convince me that the people of North Carolina are that concerned with Jews. This is just using the Jews as an opportunity to get the dems. Period

What in the fuck are you talking about. This is why people call you a dipshit on here. Not giving a shit about Jews, is much different than actively disliking Jews and laughing about Al-Qaeda.

I live in the South and in my city the Jews have a large presence and aren’t treated any differently than anyone else. Funny you think blacks are treated worse in the south too, which makes absolutely no sense.

You think blacks aren’t treated worse in the south? The top two hated groups by racist groups are blacks and Jews

Yes, and there are literally tens of thousands of people belonging to those hate groups....in a country with 360 MILLION people.

Heck, they're even outnumbered by transgenders.

Lol racist groups aren’t only in the south. Fuckin backwoods of Mississippi isn’t “the south”. I’ve lived in NE Ohio and the low country, and the south is definitely not any worse. In fact the communities seem to be more homogenous down here then where I lived in Ohio.

You have this mythical belief that the kkk runs around in hoods in the south like the movie Birth of a Nation.

I get it but at a trump rally the percentage is probably pretty high imo.

No I actually don’t lol. That may be your experience but anecdotal experiences aren’t allowed on the oc I have learned. Look if you want to believe that people are really upset for the Jews go ahead. Personally I think they are just using the issue as political fodder.

That’s the thing. No one is really upset about Jews, just like no one is really upset about Trump’s “racism”. But one side claims the moral high ground while ignoring their own shitty people. Read through a Dana Loesch twitter comment thread to see how much they care about minority women who disagree with the left.

And ill define anecdotal for you. 30 people caring about Ariel is anecdotal. 30 people caring that Chris Pratt wore a Gadsden flag shirt is anecdotal. 100 years of history in one of the most historic cities (and largest) in SC is not anecdotal.

Higher, like maybe a few percent.  But that's not the point you were making.

You've brought this up before.  You seem to believe their are millions and millions of white people in these hate groups, and it's not remotely true.  The vast majority of those registered hate groups, of which there are several hundred, have less than 10 members.  KKK is probably one of the biggest and I think higher estimates are about 8,000 members nationally.
