Poll: Covid-19 origin?

I am curious to see what everyone else thinks about the origin of Covid-19. Is the official story of a wet market bat the most likely, or did it somehow find its way out of a lab in Wuhan?

I went with unintentional laboratory leak.  These wet markets have been around forever.  If coronavirus was in animals eaten there, it'd probably come around long before this.  If it was leaked, I don't think it was intentional only because I can't see how that would make any sense.

Regardless of where its source, it came from China and the Chinese misled the rest of the world about it.  I hope this results in a rethinking of our reliance on China.

There's 0 evidence it was being manipulated to be weaponized.  I'd say there's a good chance it was an accidental leak, especially with some intelligence pointing that way and a lot of unanswered questions.

Boogie makes a good point about the wet markets.  This is the 3rd or 4th novel virus to come out of China in the last 15 years, which kind of coincides with their emergence into a global economic power.

What's really scary about this is everyone (probably including NK) is doing bio weapons research, because they think everyone else is.  While it might mostly be for defense purposes, it still involves going into the wild and finding this shit to study back in the lab. Which makes you wonder if researchers aren't creating the opportunity (in multiple ways) for these viruses to jump from animals - there's a good chance man will be responsible for a much more deadly global pandemic.

Do not believe that the Chinese intentionally released a biological weapon upon the world..........but yes, 100% responsible.

Unintentional leak from the lab, but intentional negligence to warn the rest of the world and stop it from spreading outside of China.

As a long time resident of the state of Alabama, I'd suggest the rest of the country follow a simple rule when making decisions: look at what the deep south does and then do the opposite.  As history has proven time and time again, the south does not get it right.  The fact that the south dominates the rankings in poorest, unhealthiest, lowest educated, least innovative, etc should be reason to see why you don't want to let this place set the pace.
