Biden isn’t up to a debate with a middle schooler.

What’s he going to do in the debates against the R nominee?
I’m in agreement with you, but they can’t really avoid that can they?

My guess is they will attempt to avoid this as well.

Hasn't this already happened though?
Now that you can't find an actual "moderator" unable to resist injecting their own opinions the debate is pretty much dead. Neither party wants to give one jackass the power to decide the election. It happened in 2012, and arguably 2020, as well.
They really need to change the format of the debates. Make it a sit-down, long format, podcast sort of thing. Something has to change.

No sense in worrying about the format, the DNC is not going to allow any primary debates. Rule # 1 in rigging an election: silence debate.
Already throwing out rigged election nonsense on 4/26/23. NICE!

I think the "soundbite" format is preferred by both parties. It really does tell you how ignorant the average voter is that giving long, complex answers isn't remotely effective.
Neither side would ever agree to a moderator that actually challenges the candidates on the issues.

I can't imagine Trump being anything other than a complete train wreck in the debates. He probably wouldn't even need to be prompted to launch into how the election is rigged, and then he goes on a 2020 election rant again....and, well, it only takes a swing of 1-2% to tilt the election.
It's kind of funny watching the Republicans dance around the fact they know he can't win the general, but don't want to alienate any Trump voters.

I’m not huge in Desantis, but at least he’s a middle age man with a semblance of caring about more than self-promotion. Ramaswamy would be a fantastic candidate, but the GOP powers that be certainly won’t allow that. Just like the dems threw out the only person perhaps that could lose to Trump in 2016, the GOP appears to be returning the favor.

Hey, gotta come up with a reason for losing elections other than *GASP* self-assessment and realizing that the shit that fires up your diehard core doesn't actually align with the population in general!
Hell, read an article today saying that conservative billionaire tech guy Peter Thiel has no current plans to invest in the Pubs for '24 because he feels they should be focused on innovation and competing with China in that regard -- you know, shit that might actually have purpose and meaning -- as opposed to all the culture war frivolousness that both parties take turns rustling each others' jimmies over.
BUCKLE. IT. UP.
LOL Chris Christie trying so hard to be THE conservative and explaining why no one else is conservative.
He's not necessarily wrong, but I think he's what people commonly refer to as a RINO.
As for Peter Thiel, he's obviously right that we're debating and dividing the country over largely stupid and frivolous shit. But these career politicians only care about re-election, and campaigning and winning on the stuff Thiel talks about is REALLY HARD.
I know very little about Thiel, except that he's very wealthy and has opinions. I like that he's not very noticeable.
Desantis speaking at an Iowa fundraiser. First time I've really heard him speak at length.
He's killing it. Called DEI "division, exclusion and indoctrination". Trump wants no part in debating this guy.

I would love to watch those debates. Hope they happen

If they would, hopefully CC comes back to tell us how Trump really schooled DeSantis because 4-D chess.
RFKjr has said in the past (a few years ago) that he supports gun control of sorts. Today he has a different view:
In the interview on twitter today he said 1) he's a constitutional absolutist, 2) he believes we'll make no progress until people believe the bill of rights is no longer under assault (he says it currently is), 3) he says the SCOTUS has been clear, if expansive, on defining 2nd…
