I'm not opposed to militia groups, by and large...unless they start plotting things like this. These guys are the scum of the earth if they really were planning to kill a police officer and then kill more policemen at the funeral of the slain. Will they be tried as terrorists? I sure hope so.

These guys are nutbags. They believe they will be fighting along side Jesus against the Antichrist. From what I read they tried to get other milita groups to hide them and they were told to piss off. In fact other milita members were cooperating with federal authorities in their investigation.

Yep, i read the same thing, Major. Hence why i don't really have a problem with militias because most are "true" militias, have the right beliefs, attitude etc.

And, completely agree WKfan.

I thought only muslims were terrorists? At least that is what I have been told. This really is confusing me.

Exactly. The P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act is going to protect our freedoms by us giving up our freedoms. But it's to keep us safe, so it's ok.

I don't get what you guys are saying.

In fact, I distinctly remember a whole discussion (not topic of a thread) concerning domestic terrorists.

Did ya'll forget? lol

Let's avoid the temptation to equate all conservative Christians as domestic terrorists. Most conservative or evangelical Christians I know are skeptical and wary of interventionist Big Government but love their country.

But as usual the liberal media's underlying message in this story implies that all conservative Christians are potential terrorists and need special scrutiny.

That's like saying all Muslims are members of the Taliban and al Qaeda.

And as usual some will twist actual facts. The media which includes TV, radio, and the internet have reported many miltia groups were helping in the investagation of this so-called Christian Militia group. Do not understand the motive of such a biased take on this story. We should all be thankful that these idiots were discovered and stopped.

I didn't get that at all.

I don't think anyone at all was saying that all conservative christians are potential terrorists. And, i don't think the article was either...

And, as has been said, while this story didn't mention it, i watched a few news reports on it from the "mainstream" media which mentioned that other militia groups helped in the investigation, and also didn't imply that all conservative christians are potential domestic terrorists.

All Muslims are not like the Taliban, and all Christians are not like these loons. Only a very, very, very small percentage are, and i'm very thankful for that.

Yeah that whacky liberal bias that somehow missed to label them as Terrorists.

I guess only muslims can be terrorists and I have a hard time believing that a "liberal" media would miss the golden perfect oppurtunity to label white christian Americans as terrorists.

Not buying at all so much for the liberal bias theory of the media yet another rightwing nut conspiricy theory.

Dude Believer is so rightwing that even when an article goes out its way to avoid calling them terrorists (and they are) he sees it as an attack on Christian values.

It is right wing conspiracy tinfoil hat time.

These wackos are no different then some skinhead nazi cult in Idaho. Seems like a local law thing.
They are terrorists. Would that certain situation be when they are Muslim?

There are domestic terrorists and this is them right now we have some.

Definition of terrorist. a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover.

Hmmm I wonder do these nutjobs fit the bill?

SO now we need to have military trials for them for the sake of logical consistency of all those who are in favor of military trials for terrorists which they most certainly are by even the loosest of definitions.

The "media" reported exactly what these dudes are while pointing out that other militias cooperated in the investigation . Conservative religious nutjobs are what they are and thats what they are called.

In this event, the media simply reported the facts. Shame on the "media". :p

I might be in the minority (or not) but I wouldn't have a problem with that. It makes no difference to me if this group targeted civilians or people in any type of public service.

Also, I'm very glad they caught this group before they accomplished their goal.

Three things:

1. These guys are nutjobs and deserve all the punishment they get.

2. There's nothing even remotely "Christian" about this militia group, or anyone who justifies murder.

3. I couldn't help but notice that every newspaper article, internet headline, etc. made sure we all knew that it was a Christian militia group, and a right-wing extremist group.
By contrast, when the Fort Hood shootings occurred (and actual murders were committed), it took awhile, and the mainstream media was hesitant, to call that shooter a Muslim. Even BHO sprinted to the nearest microphone to make sure we all "didn't jump to any conclusions" or form any prejudices. Even General Gates said it would be "an even greater tragedy if our diversity was affected" by this shooting. That's right- a greater tragedy than 13 (or however many it was) people being killed.

So yes, the liberal bias comes to the surface again.
