This was a discussione when it happend...
Remember the kid, from San DIego I think, who skipped his Sr season of HS to play in europe to get ready for the NBA?
Well..he avg less than 3 pts a game and quite recently.
Hmmmm....didnt quite work out now did it.
Does this now DQ him for playing any college basketbal?

Brandon Jennings averaged 5 points per game overseas last season. I think he has turned out alright back in the states. We must remember that their are grown men overseas these kids are going up against who are also pros. So we really can't expect them to be a 15/10 game right off the start. Especially at 17 years old. If anything, playing against older guys can help a development.

it just looks really bad because the numbers weren't what people thought and he came back here... he'll be fine. Only a select few are gifted enough to be like LeBron, Kobe, Dwight Howard, etc

It's not a secret that guys are drafted off of potential. This is a 17 year old kid playing in a high level professional league in Europe against grown men. I really don't know why anyone would expect much from them. Hell, Ricky Rubio doesn't even put up great stats and he's been playing professionally for quite a while now.
Plus, it's a different game. It's slower than the NBA and there is more importance on shooting compared to one on one ability and getting to the basket.

He went about it the wrong way unlike Jennings. Jennings had 2 family members go with him that were there for support and grounding.
The article I saw said that this kid was over there by himself until recently when someone went out of necessity.
The going to Europe thing is not a bad idea, but like all good ideas, it must be implemented and executed correctly. This kid and his family clearly do not get it.

Just got to college, unless you're too stupid to.
Jennings said he wouldn't recommend it to anyone, and it's worked out pretty well for him.
