+1

From the article: "At least one charming underdog and one insufferable overdog remain in every regional."

Seriously? Ohio State with 1 national title is an "insufferable overdog"?

Yeah, that was just stupid. I root for the underdogs to an extent as well. But at some point I want my later round games to feature the better teams. I wouldnt be able to be excited about a Saint Marys vs Cornell Final Four match-up. Id MUCH rather watch UK vs Duke even though I hate both programs.

I'm a big "root for the underdog" guy during the NCAA tournament, but yeah...this article sucked and looked to be the sort of "phone it in because I gotta write something today and I got NOTHING" kind of piece.

Agree with what everyone has already said, what a joke.

And it certainly didn't warrant a thread here.

Pointing out the ridiculous nature of sports jounalism that feeds the weak of mind is always worthy of note.

What a piece of hackery.

Did someone make you read and comment?? Chill out. It is an article, not a LITERARY masterpiece. Take for what it is worth.

Agreed. There are good writers and good columns out there. This, on the other hand, was a lazy piece of drek that could have been summarized to, "If a school has success, you should hate them; but if they're an underdog, THEY KICK ASS, BROHEIM!!!" For that reason alone, it was entertaining in its own special way.

Some articles aren't meant to be taken seriously. I'm quite sure this is one of them.

Sure the article sucked, but if that () gets to the Final Four and should somehow beat Turner and Ohio State (if the Buckeyes make it there), f*** yes.

:)
