This is a political compass test. It goes further than left/right. It also give Authoritarian/Libertarian it has social views as well as fiscal.

My score is this Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -5.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.67

It covers most political topics and simply asks you if you Strongly Agree, Agree Disagree or Strongly Disagree.

It suggests you take the test then look to see where some common leaders fall in the chart.

Where are you on the political compass?

I've taken this test before, and some of the questions are weird. For example, being against abortion is definitely a justifiable libertarian position.

I think I'm much further down the social scale than this shows, but it is a pretty good quiz.

I don't know how accurate this thing is though. Many of the statements were worded pretty poorly.

It is supposed to be pretty accurate. They word some in favor of authoritarianism and some in favor of libertarianism so that there is less bias in the test.

What I think is interesting, is if we look at the Presidential Candidates, most of us are way more on the social libertarian side than both R's and D's. Thought some of the questions were weird.

Here's my Compass

Some strange questions. But interesting.

The abortion question can skew the libertarian on social scale. Also questions on sex outside of marriage being moral or not. One may not believe it to be moral but not think the state should be involved in enforcing morality.
