Carolina travels to Birmingham for the right to go to the Garden and play the winner of Va Tech and Rhode Island.

I like the Heels in this one by 11.

Strickland, Drew II, and L Mac have played very well in the NIT so far. Nice to finally see it.

haha...what was Henson trying to accomplish there?

Yeah, it seems that there has been quite a bit of improvement from those guys recently. Hope it continues this summer.

From what I hear, unfortunately, yes. He may be headed back home to the west coast. I have no idea if this is true, but there's a lot of smoke, so there may be fire. Personally, I hope he sticks it out and comes back next year as a better player. Carolina will need him, even with Kendall Marshall coming in next season.

Yeah, that would be a blow because of his experience. We see right now what youth is like when you dont have a lot of leaders around. I just heard the rumors about a week or two ago and forgot to ask you all on here until now. That would be a shame, I think he could be a solid guy his last 2 years.

Exactly, Laley. This is Drew's first year running the point extensively, but he has gained a great deal of experience this season. It would be nice to have him back next year, because if he's not, Carolina will be in the same situation again at the point...inexperienced PG with a combo guard (Strickland) playing as the back-up. There will be more scorers on next year's team, which should help no matter what, but it will be tough for Marshall to come in and be effective immediately.

According to him, he doesn't have a girlfriend (used to date Eddie Murphy's daughter). And he says he's not leaving. But we'll see.

Nice D by Carolina toward the end of the half. 25-25 at the break.

Gonna take a much better effort in the 2nd half to get out of Birmingham with a win.

Oh OK. Thanks for the clarification. It was in fact Murphy's daughter that I was referencing; I just couldn't remember which celebrity it was.

Perhaps Drew dropped her because of that reason. Good for him if so.

If Henson puts on some weight in the off-season, he's gonna be really good next year. His offensive game is still pretty raw, but good things happen when he's on the floor.

2-3 possessions ago was GREAT from Dexter.

He had a 3, which he would have taken earlier in the season, but instead ball faked and hit a mid range jumper. I don't understand why he wouldn't do that earlier in the year.

I think Dex has a confidence problem. He's very reluctant to take jumpers. It would be nice to see him get back to being more aggressive.
