His name is Jakarr Sampson. He is a 6'8 200 pound small forward from Akron St Vincent St Marys. He is the #1 rated player for ohio on espn 2011 recruiting class. He has received offers from: Ohio State, Michigan State, Xavier, Cincinnati, and Akron.

well obvisouly you don't check up on your high school/college sports

Very true, but LeBron was nationally known when was as young as a sophomore. Can't say the same for this kid.

This is the first I heard of him. Not saying he isn't or won't be great but people knew who Lebron was as a freshman.

lol, next LeBron??? This kid is rated 100 on Rivals. I have heard of him, and that comparison is the most ludicrous thing Ive ever read. The only comparison is they go to the same HS.

People knew Lebron nationally as an 8th grader. I started hearing about him (living in Ohio and playing basketball in Ohio during that time) at the end of his 7th grade year.

Yeah, the whispers of Lebron started coming in jr high. He was full blown national by the end of his freshman year.

I remember how big a deal it was in 2000 for people to touch LeBron when he was walking through the rotundas at the Schott in between Akron games. I didn't mind him then, and even jumped on Dru Joyce one time while with my friends in a crowded space, telling him, "You're better than Ace. You're better than Ace," a great shooter from my high school when I was younger. Dru just looked at me like I was delusional. Haha.

Do people feel fortunate to touch Jakarr Sampson? My guess is not.

If he was the next LeBron, wouldn't he have been more than a third-team All-Ohioan as a junior? I mean, when I think "next LeBron", I'm thinking some monolithic freak of nature so dominating he's constantly being talked about by virtually everyone.
