I'm looking for a job, not a career--just something to pay the bills while I'm still in school. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask around here, anyone know of anything?

What are you going to school for? It would be wise to look for an INTERNSHIP in your field of study instead of just getting a normal job. Work experience is a BIG factor in being hired after graduating from college, so I would focus on building your resume. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat as you, but I am in the Columbus area. I am an accounting major so if anybody knows of something around Central Ohio shoot me a PM. I wouldn't mind doing an internship but at the same time I also need money to get by. I'm not looking for something for a job to get rich just the experience until I graduate.

Sorry for hijacking your thread.

Have you tried a temp service? I only know of one up in NE Ohio, (Cuyagoga Falls, North Canton, Salem). If you're reliable, they might be able to find you some work. Looks like they have a variety of positions that need filled.

Might want to try Scotts in Marysville. Huge company, obviously, and doing very well despite the economic troubles the nation is going through as a whole.

My mother has worked there for 20+ years, though overseas for part of that time, has her bachelors and masters in accounting, and it seems like she's always talking about interns, part-time folks, etc., who are working there. Lots of opportunities, and a good group to get involved with, i think.

If you have a college degree, another great company in Ohio to consider applying for is The J.M. Smucker Company (Smuckers) with corporate headquarters located in Orrville, OH. They have been on Forbes' list of the top 100 places to work in America every year since the list's inception, except one year (last year), and that was because they weren't eligible for the award/list because the company grew by too large of a percentage (# of employees). They were back on the list this year at #41 or something like that. Smuckers owns JIF, Crisco, Folgers, Hungry Jack, parts of Pillsbury, Dunkin Donuts, and many others. I work for Smuckers and love it.

Thanks, I'm going to go on their website and put my resume in.

Larry Flynt is opening a new hustler club...so if you have breasts and daddy issues I think that could qualify as a job rather than a career depending on how privy you are to cocaine

Marathon Ashland in Canton is hiring...just opened up a new building or something. Starts out at 20 bucks an hour...then goes up to 28 or 29 an hour when you are trained. Online applications only.
