No. Offense wasn't the issue with OSU. It was defense and rebounding. Why would you put a five foot nothing in the game when your getting completely dominated defensively and on the boards? Simmons shot it well in the fist half with WIDE OPEN looks. But he did nothing defensively or rebounding. No one else did. But I'd rather stick with the guys that got me there, and have a better chance of doing something Simmons is not capable of. Any coach would tell you the samething...you go with what got you there. I figured it was only a matter of time before the Diebler bashing started. IF your going to bash him, bash Buford, Lighty and Lauderdale as well. Buford after a great start, disappeared and was aweful on defense. Light non factor for the most part as well.
Turner was left with the complete load and one player can't get it done.

How exactly is Matta overrated? 6yrs in the Big Ten, 3 Big Ten titles along with 2 conference tourney titles. In ONLY 11 yeas as a head coach, has won 20+ every year. Has been to an NCAA final game, elite eight, sweet 16. Agreed. Who knows how the game would have gone had they gone man all night, but the 1-3-1 was awful. Too much standing around and staring at the ball. It was way to extended as well. You can cite all the BS you want. Like I said, recruiting wise he's amazing. You can win Big Ten titles with talent alone if you're that good of a recruiter. I'm not saying he's a bad coach--but he's overrated because he gets too much credit for being a GOOD coach. Recruiting is just one part of the equation. They did lose to a good team, no shame in that, but they could have won the game. I gave you the reason why I said he's overrated. X's and O's. A casual basketball fan could have seen that that 1-3-1 only worked for about 2 or 3 minutes. UT figured out how to beat it really fast and they owned it the rest of the night. And what he did with this team this year, with NO bench, was nothing short of great. IMO, he should be mentioned in the national coach of the year candidates.
