For those of you who live in Columbus, have lived in Columbus, or who have been to Columbus, what community, area, suburb, etc. is your favorite part of the Columbus-metro area? I live in Columbus and am curious to see what parts of town and the surrounding areas other people like best.

Love visiting German Village. Wouldn't want to live there, but it is the only real cultural area of the city that we have. Going to Schmidts, Thurmans or Planks then taking a walk around Schiller park on a nice summer afternoon is the best. Schmidts the firday night before a home OSU football game is a ton of fun as well.

Marysville, I know its not really part of Columbus, but when I lived in the area we loved Marysville and its only a short drive to C-Town.

German Village in the most scenic, with the cobblestone streets and great restaurants. Arena District has the best atmosphere on the weekends, but then again I only visit Columbus on occasion (the Arena District wasn't built when I lived there in the 90s). Short North was always a nice area, with the galleries and "upscale" bars. Can't beat campus in the Fall on Saturdays though ...

Grandview is another place that deserves mention as long as you don't step on RyDawg.

Another vote for the German Village. Spent a weekend there years ago and had a great time. I also have always enjoyed the High Street campus area. the Varsity Club and other notable establishments make for a highly entertaining evening. There are other areas also but these two stand out for me.

I live in the short north now, but was raised on the East Side.

Those two top my list, easily.

Lived in Westerville my entire life minus 1 year in Delaware at OWU and a year and a half in Bexley. I'm one of those who say they "want out of Westerville" but I'm sure I'll be here or around here my whole life. UGH.

Delaware sucks, no way around it. Except the surrounding area and golf courses.

Bexley was nice, but mainly because I was around my friends from Capital. I wouldn't have lived there if it weren't for them.

Everything along High Street. I live in Clintonville, but love the Short North and German Village as well.

Upper, we should get a beer sometime! :D

Well technically it's Genoa Township lol, but I live in the condos at Highland Lakes. I lived in Annhurst growing up though and River Trace.
