Dover's Perci Garner picked up his first W of the season as Ball State defeated #7 Louisville. Perci came in relief and pitched 4.0 innings allowing one run to give Louisville only their 2nd loss of the season.

Good for him. Does he play football anymore or he did he decide to stick to just baseball?

Since last year Perci is focusing just on baseball. With his fastball being clocked in the low to mid 90's it would not be surprising for him to get drafted this spring as long as he continues to put in hard work. As he continues to improve his control his ERA should come down as the season goes along. Ball State has played some very good teams this spring and his K totals are pretty impressive, I believe he leads all their pitchers in strikeouts. Outside of one bad outing @ top 15 Arkansas to open the year, he has done a pretty nice job out of the bullpen.wes_mantooth wrote: Good for him. I remember watching this guy as a youngster and thinking (Wow) but just like most young guys in this area its football or basketball, glad to hear he's decided to try baseball again

Perci improves to 5-0 (4-0 in MAC) on the season with a victory over Buffalo. Perci is the only 4-0 Friday starter in the MAC. His ERA is now 3.51. He has thrown 41 innings, striking out 49. Probably the most impressive stat is that he has only allowed 2 extra base hits.

Nice!
Creek faced him in the districts in 2006. He was clocked in the low 90's then. Hope he makes it.

I went to watch Perci yesterday at the MAC tourney. He pitched very well, but one bad inning of defense cost BSU the win. He pitched 7 innings with 7 k's/6 hits/3 walks/ and 5 questionable earned runs. 4 of those runs should've never happened. Oh well, that's baseball. He was throwing 91-92 mph first couple of innings then 94-95 mph and by the end of the game he was throwing 97 mph consistantly. Red Sox GM was at the game to look at Perci and his teammate Kolbrin Vitek. Vitek is a projected first rounder and Perci is a projected first round supplemental/second rounder. I couldn't be more proud of him no matter where or what round he goes in. The sky isn't even the limit for Perci!

Selected #77 overall by the Philadelphia Phillies. The 27th pick of the 2nd round. Congrats to Perci!
