What a terrible program.

They finished 8-22 (2-16) and last place in the Horizon League.

Jerry Slocum, who had a good resume from his stints at Geneva and Gannon, has compiled five losing seasons and an overall record of 49-100.

John Robic and Dan Peters, the two previous coaches, didn't have great success either despite bringing strong credentials. Robic did have a solid year around 2002 I believe when they went 18-12 and Peters had them in the Mid-Continent Championship in 1998, falling to Bryce Drew and Valparaiso. They haven't sniffed the NCAA Tournament since then.

I just bring it up because I was thinking what team would I like to see in the Big Dance someday. This would be a hell of a coaching job taking YSU.

Oh they're turrible. Saw them a couple times this season and they just can't get it done with the talent (or lack thereof) they have.

At least that's 8 more wins than the YSU women got this past year!

I mean, let's be honest, what's the appeal to come to Youngstown to play basketball? Given a handful of other options...uuhhhhh...yeah.

The women were actually decent for awhile under DeGregorio.

Awful lately. Saw they're hiring a new coach.

0-30 for the women's team lol

they got pumped by 20 against Elon

and 23 by High Point

that could be the worst performance by a Division I team (men's or women's) in history
