Anyone watch the Nova/ Bobby Mo game at the end? 4 of the worst calls ever made in consecutive possessions. All against Robert Morris...1 on offense (no call on a blatant hold) and 3 phantom whistles on defense. If I were the coach, I'd be ripping the officials for stealing their team's most memorable win ever.

As a sidebar...the BiG East has been downright awful in the NIT and NCAA so far.

Agreed.

Felt so bad for the RM players and coaches.

Terrible way to go down, those calls should have been made and needed to made.

Fair enough. My fiancee would dump me in a second for Jay Wright...as she just told me. :(

The more flamboyantly RM's coach complained, the worse the calls got. They got jobbed but I think RM needed to be a little more calm.

I was actually surprised they didn't give the players or coach a technical. Definitely looked like the refs wanted one team to win over another.

Found a Box Score finally that listed the refs so I could go see what conference they usually work...

Refs were:
Gary Maxwell (Most common conferences worked: SoCon and ACC - Worked ACC Tourney)
Bruce Bell (Most common conferences: SWAC and Summit - Worked SWAC Tourney)
Rick Crawford (Most common conferences: SEC and CUSA - Worked SEC Tourney)

They sure weren't biased by their usual work locations, and they aren't inexperienced seeing 2 got good conference tourneys to work. They just suck.

Robert Morris winning would have screwed up my bracket royally, but agreed, Villanova was destined to win this game, one way or the other.

The officiating was suspect, at best. However, you always see in the NCAA Tourney if calls seem to be going against a team. It seems that the mid major's get screwed against BCS schools about all the time.

The president is screwed regardless. His ass is out in '12, then we can have Palin brackets.

(Kidding. But not about "Bama").

Good luck with your bracket. My take is that St Mary's will blow out Nova...unless of course the refs have Nova on the money line again.

I'd be willing to bet that Nova plays much better against St. Mary's. They haven't played well down the stretch, but nearly losing to a 15 seed can do wonders to a team's intensity/focus. I have Nova going to the FF, and while today's performance wasn't very encouraging, I think they'll be much better on Saturday. There's always the chance, though, that SMC bounces them and opens the bracket up for Duke even more.

^^St Mary's has the better team. Nova and their conference is obviously wayyy overrated.

I hate it when the refs make 4 incorrect calls inside of 3 minutes and ruin it for Cinderella.

St Mary's has the better team.
What are basing this on? I have watched St.Mary's 4 times this year and today they played their best game. Samhan had no resistance today. He will have resistance on Saturday.

No. Saint Mary's played a lot better in their conference title game....when they blasted Gonzaga by 30 points.

Very true...that's what I'm sayin...the refs got a call at halftime....Nova "had to" win...if you know what I'm sayin.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not but you would have to be an idiot to think that someone would have put a lot of money on 'Nova for a straight up win. 700k gets you 10k. Nobody bets that, c'mon.

That is a matter of opinion. We will see how St. Mary's does in round 2 against Nova.

Although I like Nova, I will be rooting against them versus the Gaels, since the refs handed them a game they should have lost.
