And the game was in Dallas. Just another example proving that the best/ better team doesn't always win.

Right.. If Dallas and NY met in a 7 game series, who'd win?

(Keep in mind, Dallas did beat NY by 50 this season)

Just one of those nights for Dallas--usually doesn't get that bad but the Knicks were on fire.

Knicks shot 56%, and 53% from 3 with 16 makes. Dallas was 42% from the field, only 33% from 3. Aside from the Dallas 3PT%, those are statistical oddities. And they just came off a 13 game streak--had to come to an end at some point, so I don't put much into it. And like LTrain said, they beat them by 50 earlier this year, just one of those nights.

The Mavs are going to be a tough team to beat in the playoffs, tougher than people anticipate I think--personally, I think they're a legit contender. More so than the Celtics or Hawks.

But I don't really think you needed to make this thread for the reason you did--I think everyone knows that the better team doesn't always win. If they did then we'd have undefeated champions in every sport. And that has never happened in any of the 3 major sports but football and will never happen in the NBA or MLB. I mean, I get where you're going, but even those pesky Laker fans know this--it happens on pretty much a nightly basis.

I think one of the important things to consider is look at the margin of victory from the Mavs during this winstreak and their margin of victory throughout the season... it's not high at all. You can look at it two different ways. Either they know how to win the close games... or they are playing with fire and are going to get burnt soon.

Usually margin of victory over a course of a season is an important statistic... in a single game not so meaningful.

After seeing this score, I am positive that Lebron is leaving for the Knicks.

I dont care what you say.. an 84 point swingbetween 1 meeting is crazy. Especially since the Mavs were playing their best ball of the year!
