If they continue the halftime lead and beat Purdue. Season record would be 21-12. Conference record 11-11. Key wins include Purdue (2), Notre Dame, Minnesota and Illinios. Certainly they have to be considered in the same breath as an Illinios or Minnesota!! 5 wins against top 50.

Losses to Penn State (11-20), Iowa (10-22), Penn State (11-20) and Indiana (10-21). They finished up the regular season 2-4 as well.

For them to have ANY chance at making the NCAA tournament, they HAVE to beat Purdue, and maybe/probably Michigan State/Minnesota too.

I understand the HAVE to beat Purdue. If they do beat Purdue for the 2nd time, they deserve to be in the mix as much as Illinois or Minnesota.

No they dont. They have to win the whole thing. They have some of the worst loses I have ever seen for a team with 20 wins. Indiana, PSU, and Iowa are TERRIBLE basketball teams.

They also played a SHIT OOC schedule.

I agree with Laley. Either they win the Big Ten title or they won't be in the big dance.

They beat ND out of conference!! Minnesota has (2) Losses to Michigan and a loss to Portland. Illinois closed the regular season losing 5 of 6.

All a mute point now. I still dont know why beforehand they werent lumped in with Ill and Minn, since they did split with both of them.

Why do people say 'mute' point? That doesn't make any sense. It is a 'moot' point.

Michigan is loads better than Iowa, PSU, and Indiana.
Portland isnt all that bad either. RPI of 80 and are 21-10 in a good conference. Illinois has 5 really great wins.

RPI:
Northwestern is 113
Michigan is 127
Iowa is 206
Indiana is 215
Penn State is 193

That is a poor, poor argument. ND is their best win. A team that had to lose their best player to even make it to the bubble/tourney.

They are dismissing them because they are not tournament worthy, but only intelligent, sane people can see that.

Funny how thse threads start before the game is actually over. Another thread said how it is setting up perfectly for OSU MSU in Big10 final. How many months of March do you have to go through as a college basketball fan before you wait to say anything until you watch the games.

I started the thread by saying, IF their lead holds up over Purdue. Ended by saying, its a "moot" point now because they lost.

Wilbon is going to be squawking on Monday. He's been beating the Northwestern drum all season. He's going to be disappointed
