Talk about an intimidating team. I've seen them play 4 times this year. They are the real deal. Soon to be state champs?

They should be, but they are definitely not unbeatable. I figure they will cruise until they play a team from the GCL in Cincy. Whoever comes out of that league is always the real deal as well.

I agree with wes_mantooth. But still, if a team (Northland) beats Harmony Prep (without Weatherspoon) and then beats Oak Hill Academy when Sullinger scores only 4 points or whatever it was... they ARE THE REAL DEAL! I can't see them getting beat.

Team is way too big and long to let any team push them around. Unless a team gets super-hot from 3 pt. range, they wont get beat.

Two years ago they beat themselves. That may be the only way they don't win state.

When you have a 6-8 forward committed to WVU coming OFF THE BENCH, you know you're good. Best high school team since ASVSM.

IMO this Northland team would beat the ASVSM teams of the past. They are not a one man gang. Sullinger is surrounded by many more weapons than Lebron was.namod65 wrote: When you have a 6-8 forward committed to WVU coming OFF THE BENCH, you know you're good. Best high school team since ASVSM.

Maybe, but Lebron was a lot better than Sullinger. Lebron was a once in a lifetime type of player. Also, Lebron had several D1 prospects playing with him also. Romeo Travis and Dru Joyce both played at Akron. I would honestly take those Brookhaven teams with Lavender,Faust, and Ron Lewis over both Northland and ASVSM.bucks36 wrote:IMO this Northland team would beat the ASVSM teams of the past. I saw ASVSM play twice LeBron's senior year. LeBron was the show and he had a great supporting cast of players to compliment him. However, imo Northland has more depth and a little bit more talent than LeBron's team his senior year. But, for any old time bball junkies the Columbus East team that featured Ed Ratliff, Bo Lamar and crew might have been the best all time HS team to come out of Columbus. Some of you are way to young to even know about them.
As for today's game against Westerville Central it really wasn't even as close as the score indicates. Jared had an injured shooting hand and still had 16 points. JD had an off night up untill the last 7 minutes of the game. Trey, imo, was just a little off today. Potts played decent today, but even Jalen seemed off today. However, a win is a win and it is fun to watch this team play. I just don't see Satch being out coached even if his team has an off night.

Northland has the better overall team than what Lebron did but we must remember that ASVSM played a national schedule. Just about every team they played had more talent than them but Lebron was THAT good. ASVSM only played 4 teams in Ohio (not counting the tournament) and just about every team they played was nationally ranked, with 4 or 5 I believe in the top 7. That's incredible. Northland has great wins on their resume as well knocking off previously #1 Findlay Prep and Oak Hill. Could they have done it on a nightly basis? Possibly because they are that good and no one in the country can defend Jared in my opinion. This would have been a great game.

^^Hot water girls are valuable to a team. That is why most teams can't get over the hump.

Not a chance....and I would have said that before tonight. The guys on Northland are overrated, Sullinger is no Lebron and I'm not sure that either of the other guys going D1 will ever be what Romeo Travis was. He could have played anywhere.mallymal614 wrote: Northland has the better overall team than what Lebron did but we must remember that ASVSM played a national schedule. I am surprised. Either Northland played their worst game in years or Gahanna is now the real deal. It would "be nice" to see Gahanna win the state championship.
