Apparently operations have ceased, but they will permanently surrender their business license by June.

Will it "fix" anything, or does it just mean right wingers will have to find a new scapegoat when the elections don't go the way they want them to?

I'm not saying ACORN was completely innocent, but I still need a lot of convincing that they "stole" the election. There are people on both sides whole pull deceiving stuff every election.

I have no doubt voter fraud happens. Wasn't it Chicago or some other city where they found all kinds of dead people registered? I still don't understand why people aren't required to give a SS # nationwide to vote. You'd think (I know better) that politicians would want to make this a law to show that they are tough on voter fraud.

ACORN is a horrible organization who's primary intent in Ohio was to ensure Obama's election in 2008 at whatever cost. However, they ultimately had no affect on the outcome of the election. Obama was definitely elected fairly by the people of Ohio even in the face of the actions of ACORN and I haven't heard a single conservative suggest otherwise.

ACORN is as corrupt as the day is long.

But I know of NOBODY who believes they swung an entire election.

Anyone who tries to make that argument is either ignorant or seeking to deflect attention away from the fact that the organization is rotten to the core and should never, EVER be given a dime of public money.

Anyone who would say that ACORN stole the election is severely overestimating their effectiveness as an organization.

Agreed.

And anyone who says they didn't try to is drastically underestimating their level of corruption.

They are changing names because congress blocked federal "Acorn" money. They're already re-establishing their national chapters under new "organizations" so they can get the money back. It's a shell game.
